CHAPTER 62. An Act to amend Chapter 151, Revised Statutes, 1900, "The Trustee Act." (Passed the 28th day of March, A. D., 1907.) SECTION. 1. Investment may be varied. SECTION. 2. Security to holders. Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows: 1. Section three of chapter 151 of the Revised Statutes, Investment may is hereby amended by adding thereto, at the end thereof, e varied. the following sub-sections: (1) A trustee may also, unless expressly forbidden by the instrument (if any) creating the trust, invest any trust funds in his hands, whether at the time in a state of investment or not, in the debentures of the company incorporated by the Acts 62-63 Victoria, chapter 101, passed by the Parliament of Canada, and amendments thereto, and may also from time to time vary any such investment. (2) The mortgages or other securities, or the cash Security to deposited by said company from time to time with the holders. Provincial Treasurer, under chapter 4 of the Acts of Nova Scotia for the year 1903-4, as amended by chapter 12 of the Acts of Nova Scotia for the year 1906, in addition to being held as a security under the provisions of section 11 of said last-mentioned Act, shall also be held as security to the holders of such debentures issued to purchasers of the same residing within the Province of Nova Scotia. CHAPTER 63. An Act to amend Chapter 153, Revised Statutes, 1900, "Of Certain Trust Companies." (Passed the 28th day of March, A. D., 1907.) Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows: added to. 1. Section one of chapter 153, Revised Statutes, 1900, Section 1 "Of Certain Trust Companies," is amended by adding thereto the following words :-"Such company may be appointed to execute any of the said offices by any person or persons having authority, by deed, will, or other instrument, to appoint a person or persons to execute any such office." Section 10 amended. CHAPTER 64. An Act to amend Chapter 91, Revised Statutes, 1900, "Of the Protection of Woods against Fire." (Passed the 25th day of April, A. D., 1907.) Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows: 1. Section ten of chapter 91 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1900, is amended by striking out the word "six," in the second line thereof, and substituting therefor the word "twelve." Jury panels. and revisers' CHAPTER 65. An Act to Legalize Jury Panels, Assessment Rolls, and SECTION. 1. Jury Panels. (Passed the 25th day of April, A. D., 1907.) SBOTION. 2. Assessment rolls and revisers' lists. Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows: 1. All jury panels and jury lists now made, or to be made, for use in 1907, whether grand or petit, drawn from jury lists at the terms of the Supreme Court at which the same are usually drawn, shall be, and the same are hereby declared to be, legal and valid. An Act to provide for Defraying Certain Expenses of the Civil Government of the Province. Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows: His Honour the 1. A sum not exceeding $66,100 for the encouragement of agriculture; A sum not exceeding $8,000 to defray the expenses of criminal prosecutions ; A sum not exceeding $283,000 for educational purposes; A sum not exceeding $11,000 to defray the current expenses of the Crown Land Department; A sum not exceeding $50,000 to provide for the pay of members and officers and the contingent expenses of the Legislature; A sum not exceeding $21,000 to defray the expenses of the Department of Public Works; A sum not exceeding $32,000 to defray the expenses of the Mines Department; A sum not exceeding $188,400 for certain public charities; A sum not exceeding $12,000 towards defraying the expenses of public printing; A sum not exceeding $40,000 to provide for certain miscellaneous expenses; A sum not exceeding $70,604 in aid of steamboats, packets and ferries; A sum not exceeding $32,950 for the payment of salaries; A sum not exceeding $93,582.47 to provide for great and by-road and bridge service; A sum not exceeding $40,000 to defray the expenses of the Provincial Engineer's office; A sum not exceeding $1,250 towards defraying the expenses of the Legislative Library; A sum not exceeding $307,691.55 to provide for the payment of interest on Nova Scotia debentures; A sum not exceeding $10,966.66 to provide for a sinking fund in connection with Nova Scotia debentures; A sum not exceeding $1,200 in aid of Halifax Medical College; A sum not exceeding $15,000 in aid of Miners' Relief Funds; A sum not exceeding $400 to provide for the expenses of Sheriffs' Courts in connection with the electoral lists; A sum not exceeding $10,000 to provide for the interest on current bank accounts in Nova Scotia ; A sum not exceeding $2,000 to provide for certain expenses in connection with succession duties; A sum not exceeding $10,000 to provide for a refund of Crown Land road moneys; A sum not exceeding $75,000 to provide for certain smaller bridges; A sum not exceeding $60,000 in connection with royalty refund; A sum not exceeding $30,000 to provide for emergent road expenditure ; A sum not exceeding $5,000 to provide for certain election expenses; A sum not exceeding $1,885.68 for Howe monument ; A sum not exceeding $4,000 in connection with Nova Scotia Technical College; A sum not exceeding $290,100 chargeable to capital for certain public works. 2.
