Mr. Sawyer of Dover introduced a bill entitled "An act in a mendment of an act entitled an act to constitute the counties of Belknap and Carroll, passed November Session, 1840."

Mr. Parker of Fitzwilliam moved that the bill be referred to the select committee who have had under consideration the bill entitled "An act to constitute the counties of Belknap and Carroll."

Mr. Dodge moved that the bill be indefinitely postponed.

Mr. McDaniel introduced a bill entitled "An act in addition to and in amendment of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Eastern Railroad in New Hampshire."

Mr. Treadwell moved that the bill be postponed to the next session of the Legislature.

Mr. St. Clair moved that the bill be indefinitely, postponed.

Mr. St. Clair submitted the following resolution:

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, that Jeremiah Elkins, Esquire, be allowed the sum of twenty six dollars, in full for his services as Clerk of the committee on Elections, having been elected by said committee pursuant to a resolution of the House of Representatives, of the 9th of December, 1840, to be paid out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.

Which was read a first and second time.

Mr. Sawyer of Dover introduced a bill entitled "An act in addition to an act entitled an act defining the powers and duties of firewards and other persons, in certain cases, passed Dec. 16, 1828."

Resolved, that the imputation of fraud made or implied against Imri Woods, late a member of this House from the town of Henniker, and against the selectmen of said town in relation to the late annual election in said town, or in relation to the making up of the check list used at said election, or in making up the list of ratea

ble polls in said town, is in the opinion of this House unsustained by any evidence exhibited or produced in the investigation of the case, and is without foundation in fact.

The reading of the Journal of the committee on Elections, to whom was referred the memorial or statement of facts of Robert Wallace, was called for.

Resolved, that the rules of the House be so far suspended that › the resolution be read a third time at the present time.

Mr. Lane, from the same committee, to whom was referred the account of the selectmen of Shelburne, reported the following resolution:

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened, that the selectmen of Shelburne be allowed the sum of three dollars, in full for their account for returning the inventory of the town of Success, the same to be paid out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise adpropriated. Which was read a first and second time.
