The Speaker announced the appointment of Messrs. Wells, Barron, Lane, Parker of Fitzwilliam, Spalding, Sawyer of Dover, George of Salisbury, and Howard of Springfield, as the select committee to take into consideration the bill entitled "An act to abolish imprisonment for debt," and the amendment thereto.

A message from the Senate by their Clerk:

:

"Mr. Speaker-The Senate concur with the House of Rep resentatives in the passage of the bill entitled "An act to incorpo

rate the proprietors of Colebrook Bridge," with an amendment in which they ask the concurrence of the House.

The Senate have postponed to the next session of the Legisla ture the bill entitled "An act in addition to an act entitled an act to incorporete the Amoskeag Falls Bridge."

The House proceeded to the consideration of the foregoing bill entitled "An act to incorporate the proprietors of Colebrook Bridge," with the amendment which came down from the Hon. Senate: which was to strike out from said bill the whole of the ninth section, it being in the words following:

"SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, that the private property of each individual member of said corporation shall be liable for the debts due from and liabilities of said corporation, and may be attached on mesne process, and seized and sold on execution, in the same way and manner as property is now attached and seized for private debts of individuals," and also to change the title of section "10" to "9."

Mr. Baker of Hillsborough moved that the House non-concur in said amendment.
