with the Officer to see his family who live in that place; on their return yesterday they fell in company with several persons and stop'd at a Tavern on the road about two miles below Thomas Wright's Mills where they were in high humor, & very merry for some time; before they had done drinking the Officer & Mr Norton had some little dispute, but by the interposition of some of the Company the matter was settled; one of my Dragoons standing by not fully understanding the dispute thought Mr. Norton had abused his Officer which occasioned some words between them.
