ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT, indented, had, made, agreed unting and concluded upon, this

in the year, &c. between 1. N. of, &c. ironmonger of the one part, and S. H. ol, c. cafter of the other part, as follows: IRS T, the said S. H. for the considerations hereafter mentioned,

doth covenant, promise and agree, to and with the said 7. N. his executors, administrators and afligns, in manner following, that is to say, that he the said S. H. shall and will, truly and faithfully ferve, and work for him the said J. N. his executors, administrators and alligns, and do and perform the art, business, and occupation of a caster, and all things relating thereto, as he shall from time to time be required, ordered, or directed by the said 7. N. his executors, administrators or assigns, for and during the space of one year, to commence and be reckoned from the day of the date of these presents, and from thenceforth fully to be compleat and ended; AND that he the said S. H. shall and will froin time to time, and at all times during the said term, do and perform all such work releating to the said business of a caster, as he shall from time to time be required, ordered, or directed to do by the said 7. N. his executors, administrators or aligns, during the said term, according to the best of his skill and judgment, and as may be most for the profit and advantage of the faid 7. N. his executors, administrators and assigos, and thall and will keep the secrets of the said 7. N. his executors, administrators and assigns, relating to the faid trade and butiness; and that he the faid S. H. shall not, nor will at any time during the said term wilfully neglect or depart from the said work, service and employment of the said J. N. his executors, administrators and afligns, nor do any work whatsoever, for any other person or persons whatsoever, in the art or occupation aforesaid, or in any wife relating thereto, without the leave and licence of the said 7. N. his executors, administrators and afligns, or some of them, first had and obtained in writing under his, their, or some or one of their hands for that purpose. AND that he the said S. H. shall and will be just, true, and faithful to the said 7. N. in all matters and things ; and that he the said S. H. shall not, NUMB, II,

nor will not at any time during the said term, do, or cause, or willingly suffer to be done, any act, matter, or thing whatsoever, to the hindrance or prejudice of the said 7. N. his executors, administrators or afligns in the bufiness aforesaid, or otherwise howsoever.

And the said J. N. for himself, his executors, administrators and assigns, doth hereby covenant, promise and agree, to and with the said S. H. his executors, administrators and aligns, in manner following, that is to say, That he the said J. N. his executors, administrators and assigns, for and in consideration of the work and fervice aforesaid, to be well, truly, and faithfully done and performed by the said S. H. shall and will weekly, and every week during the said term pay, or cause to be paid unto the said S. H. or his asigns, the sum of one pound one fhilling, and also find and provide for the said S. H. fufficient board and lodging, during the faid term.

PROVIDED ALWAYS, and there presents are upon this condition, that if there shall happen to be four weeks wages due, and in arrear and unpaid from the said y. N. his executors, administrators or assigns, after the rate aforesaid, unto the said S. H. and the same shall be lawfully demanded, that then, and from thenceforth it thall and may be lawful to and for the faid S. H. to leave and depart from the service of the said J. N. his executors, administrators and alligns, and to determine and make void these presents, any thing herein before mentioned to the contrary, in any wise notwithstanding.

AND LASTLY, for the true and faithful observing and performing of all and every the articles, covenants, payments, provisoes, and agreements herein before mentioned and exprefred, to be by the said . N. his executors, administrators and afligns, and the faid S. H. obferved, paid, done, and performed as aforesaid, according to the true intent and meaning of these presents, each of them the said 7. N. and S. H. doth bind himself, his executors, administrators and affigns, unto the other of them his executors, administrators and afligns, respectively in the penal sum of pounds, of lawful money of Great Britain, firmly by these presents, In witness, &c.

ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT, indented, had, made, concluded and agreed upon this dav of in the year

of our Lord 1773, between 1V. K. of, &c. of the one part, and R. J. of &c. of the other part, as follows, viz.

HEREAS the said W. K. was by articles of agreement,

bearing date the day of — 1771, bound apprentice to 7. M. and J. S. late of, &c. Callico Printers, and partners, for the term of seven years, commencing from the day of the date thereof; and the said J. M. survived the said ;.S. and the said W. K. duly served

the said 7. M. until a commission of bankruptcy issued against him, on or about the day of --- last, and afterwards continued in the service of the assignees of his eftate, until the day of the date hereof, when he was at his request duly committed to the said R. 7. for the remainder of his term. AND WHEREAS he the said W. K. hath agreed with the said R.J. to abide with, and serve him as his arprentice, or covenant servant, as a Callico and Linen Printer, from the day of the date hereof, for the remainder of the said seven years, which will expire on the day of -, 1778, upon the terms, conditions and agreements herein after mentioned. NOW THESE PRESENTS WITNESS, and the said IV. K. in pursuance of the fed agreement, and for the confiderations herein after mentioned, doth for himself, his executors and administrators, covenant, promise and agree, to and with the said R. 7. his executors and administrators, by these presents in manner and form following; (that is to say) that he the said IV. K. shall and will be, and continue with, and well, truly, diligendly and faithfully, to the best of his skill and judgment, serve the said R. J. and his partners, and no other person or persons whomsoever in the capacity of a Callico, or Linen Printer, for and during the remainder of the said term of seven years, to be computed from the day of the date hereof, and do and perform during the said term, every act and deed relating to the said trade or businefs in the best manner he is able. The hours of working and performing the said business to be as follows, namely, from Lady-day to Michaelmas-day, from fix o'clock in the morning, until fix o'clock in the evening of each day, in every week, (Sundays only excepted) allowing thereout half an hour for breakfast, and an hour and an half for dinner each day; and from Michaelmas-day to Lady-day, from day-light in the morning, until it is dark in the evening each day, (Sundays likewise excepted) allowing thereout for dinner only one hour each day. AND ALSO, that he the said W. K. shall not, nor will at any time during the said term commit, or be guilty of any fraud or embezzlement of the money, goods, or other things of the said R. J. or his partners, or for which he or they shall or may be accountable, wherewith he the said W. K. shall be entrusted ; AND FURTHER, that he the said W. K. shall and will during the faid term find and provide, for himself at his own proper costs and charges, apparel, board, lodging, and all other necessaries whatsoever. AND the said R. J. doth for himself, his executors and administrators, covenant, promise and agree, unto and with the said W. K. his executors and administrators, by these presents, that he said R. 7. shall and will during the two first years of the said term, well and truly pay, or cause to be paid unto the said W. K. (in confideration of such services so to be by him done and performed as aforesaid,) 12 s. of lawful money of Great Britain, weekly, and every week on every Saturday night thereof, the first payment thereof to begin and be made on the day of instant, and the fum of 16 s. like money weekly, and every week on every Saturday night during the remainder of the said term. PROVIDED ALWAYS, and it is further agreed by and between the said parties,

that if the said W. K. shall at any time or tiines during the said term, neglect the business of his said malter, or by fickness or any other accident be hindered, prevented, or rendered incapable of performing the said business of the said R. 7. in manner aforesaid ; then he the Taid W. K. shall abate out of his faid wages weekly, in proportion for the time he shall neglect the said business, or be so hindred, or rendered incapable thereof as aforesaid. AND LASTLY, for the true performance of the covenants and agreements, herein bifore contained on the part and behalf of the said parties, to be severally done and performed, each of them bindeth himself, his heirs, executors and administrators, unto the other of them, his executors and administrators, in the penal fum of pounds, of lawful money of Great Britain, firmly by these presents. ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT, indented, made, concluded

and agreed upon this day of — 1773, between W. F. of, &c. of

the one part, and H. D. of, &c. of the other pari, as follows : MPRIMIS, The said H. D. of his owo free will and accord,

for the confiderations herein after mentioned, doth hereby bind himself unto the said W. F. with him the said W. F. to dwell, serve and abide, after the manner of a servant, to do and perform all matters and things relating to the employment or business of a Hawker, Pedlar, or Petty Chapman, from the day of the date hereof, for, during, and unto the full end and term of three years from thence next enfuing fully to be compleat and ended.

AND the said H. D. doth hereby covenant and agree, that he the said H. D. during the said term, his said niafter will well and faithfully his secrets keep, his lawful commands at all times willingly obey, that he will not do any hurt or damage to his said master, or his goods, nor purloin, or otherwise waste the goods of his faid master ; at cards, dice, or any other unlawful game he shall not play; taverns, inns, or alehouses he shall not frequent, unless about his laid master's business, nor absent himself day or night from his said master's service, but shall at all times be ready and willing to give his said master a true and faithful account of his proceedings, make due and true returns to his faid master of all goods or monies that shall come to his hands, and in all things behave himself as an honest and faitäful servant during the said term.

AND the faid W. F. doth covenant and agree, to teach and instruct the said H. D. in the art or mystery of a Hawker, PedJar, or Petry Chapman, which he now useth, according to the best ways and means he can, and that he will, during the said term of three years, find and provide for his said servant, meat, drink, washing, lodging, and all other necessaries except cloathing, fit and convenient for fuch a lervant to have ; and that in case the said H, D. Thail faithfully

serve his faid master, according to the tenor and effect of this agreement, that then the said W. F. fhall and will, at the expiration of the said three years, trust the said H. D. with goods or wares, to the value of 401. as a stock for him the said H. D, to trade upon on his own account. In witness, &c.

mentioned, doth hereby for himself, his executors, and administrators, covenant, promise, and agree, to and with the said S. S. his executors and administrators, in manner following, viz. that he the said R. W. will be with, continue, and well, truly, diligently, and faithfully, to the best of his skill, judgment, and capacity, serve him the said S. S. and no other person or persons whomsoever, as a covenanted servant, in the capacity of a foreman, manager, or superintendant in the trade or business of a Broker, in buying or selling of household goods and furniture by hand, now carried on and followed by hin the said S. S. at his house or warehouse in aforesaid, for and during the term of -years, to be computed from the day of the date of these presents, determinable nevertheless at the end of the first or second year of the said term of years, in manner herein after-mentioned. AND ALSO shall do and perform during the faid term (determinable as aforesaid) all and every adt, deed, and thing, relating to the said trade or business in the best manner he is able, and also mall, during the said term, inftru£l the apprentice or apprentices of the said S. S. in the said trade or business of a Broker in felling by hand; AND ALSO shall day by day, during the faid term, continue with, and work, follow, or attend the said trade or business of a broker, for the said S. S. during the hours, times, and seafons that are customary and usual in the said trade; AND ALSO that he the said R. W. shall not, nor will at any time during the said term commit, or be guilty of any fraud or embezzlement of the monies, goods, wares, or merchandizes of the said S. S. or for which he shall or may be accountable, or wherewith he the faid R.W. shall be entrusted by him the said S. S. AND ALSO shall not, during the said term, (determinable as aforesaid) carry on, or cause, or procure to be carried on the said trade or business of a Broker, in the buying or selling of goods and furniture by hand on his own account ; AND FURTHER, That he said R. W. fhall and will, during the faid term, find and provide for himself (at his own proper costs and charges) apparel, lodging, washing, physic, and all other neceflaries whatsoever ; AND the said S.
