SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

FOR LEGISLATIVE ACTION.

1. That certain agents of the Board be appointed district police officers,

for the purpose of returning to the State Farm prisoners who have violated the conditions of their release. (See pages 15, 16.)

2. That reports of charitable corporations be made for the financial

years of the several corporations. (See page 138.)

3. That the Legislature be asked to consider the advisability of provid

ing for the visitation and inspection of all incorporated charitable institutions or homes by the State Board of Charity, and further to consider whether charitable homes for children should be approved by the Board as a condition of their incorporation. (See page 138.)

4. That the Legislature be asked to consider the advisability of provid

ing for the submission of plans for the construction of city and town almshouses to some central authority for its approval, and also to consider whether legislation is needed to secure the keeping of a uniform system of almshouse records, and other pauper records already required by law. (See page 84.)
