A Message by Richard Hartshorn & Thomas Fitzrandolph wth ye house of Deputyes answer to ye last message wch was in writting to this effect that there is Sufficient money raised till may next & then they will Consult what they Judge needfull to be done if Called thereto and that they allow 67th is 001d of y° Gover's acc'p' of disbursment upon acc'p y° publick.

A Message by Thomas Gordon desireing a Generall Conference of y house of Deputyes presently & being meet The Govr told them that by his Information on their behalf y proprietors in England had Supported and maintained y Goverment untill now and therefore he desires their positive answer whither they will for ye future Support & maintain ye Goverment or not & what they will allow & what fund they will propose for that end.

A Message by Thomas Codrington Edward Earl Jun'r & azariah Craine wth an answer to ye Gover's proposal to Witt That they were Subjects of y° Crown of England & must be subject to what Governour Their majties were pleased to set over them Whither y° prop'rs or others. The Gover told them that that was no answer to y° question proposed wch was whither they would raise a fund for y° Support of yo Gover

A Message by Thomas Gordon to ye house of Deputyes in

writting as followeth viz: A Message from y° Gover & Councill to ye house of Deputyes to have their answer if they will Support y Charge of y Goverment & to releive y° prop'rs of y vast Charge they have been at hitherto in y° Support of it that they aggree on y° yearly sume & a Certain method of levieing it y answer is desired in writting Octr 19 1694 by Consent of y' Council And: Hamilton.

A Message by Richard Hartshorn Willm Lawrence Edward Earle & John Pike who [had] a long discourse about ye aboves message telling y° Gover" that he had promised them to delay their Supporting of y° Goverm' so long as ye frontiers were helped to be Supported by them woh ye Gover' did acknowledge & is still willing to do so but being they do now reject it or delay it wch in effect is y° same thing it is now but just and reasonable that there be a fund & Support raised for yo maintainance of y° Goverment for yo future &c.

A Message by James Dundas & Thomas Gordon requireing ye Speaker and y° whole house to attend y° Gover" & Councill presently The Speaker answered that their house was adjourned till Moonday morning.

A Message by Thomas Gordon desireing y° Speaker & yo whol house to attend y° Gover & Councill on a Generall Conference wth in an hour & to bring wth them all y bills already past & all yt were at present under their Consideration. and being meet m' Speaker proposed that a petition was given In to their house by James armour & after long debate y Subject matter of the petition not being Cognossible by an

assembly y petitioner was left to take his remedie as y Law directs A bill was presented Concerning highwayes returned wth amendments &c. a bill appointing officers for executeing ye lumber Bill &c.

A Message from y° house of Deputyes proposeing to raise ye Sume of 30 to prosecute y Colts of New Yorke for ye abusses put upon ye Inhabitants of this province in yo free use of ports &c.

A Message by Andrew Bowne & Sam" Dennes proposeing to accept of ye sd 30lb for y° end proposed provideing they would lay down Some methode for prosecuteing y° appeal at home wch must need follow upon yo Suite wch ever party were Cast for so long as they were out of their dutie to the Crown in not Joyning in yo Common defence of y° frontiers nor yet Support y Charge of y' Goverment y° Gover' was robt of any arguments wch he could use wth ye prop'rs in England to appear upon y appeal or in their behalf anyway at home.

A Message by Richard Hartshorn Sam" Leonard Edward Earle & Will Laing wth ye bill Concerning County Courts further amended past that house and ye bill Concerning high wayes past y house & a bill for County Treasurers past y house and y bill for raiseing 79 12s 9d for repaying yo Gover his publick disbursements

A Bill Concerning County Courts further amended & a bill about high wayes were both read here and past this board

A Bill Concerning y° militia amended & A bill about Treasurer amended & a bill for executeing y lumber bill amended & y Bill for repaying y Gover1 79 12s 9d of publick disbursments were all read here and past this board and Sent to ye house of Deputyes by Sam" Dennes & James Dundas who required y Speaker and y° whole house of Deputyes to attend ye Gover' & Councill presently wch they did and did deliver all y bills past both houses at this assembly to y° Secretary being in number 14* and because Some of them wanted titles it was recomended to y° Gover" & Secretary to give proper titles to Such as wanted Orderd by both houses that y° Secre
