(Rulings to Western Classification.)

Little Rock, Ark., December 18, 1900.

In approval of Joint Application No. 35 of the Saint Louis, Southwestern Railway Company for the adoption of Supplement No. 2 to Western Classification for the transportation of freights between points in Arkansas, said Supplement covering rulings that have been made and will govern until Classification No. 31 and Arkansas Exceptions thereto are adopted and approved by this Commission.

This order to take effect with date.

In approval of Joint Applications, submitted under Nos. 38 and 39 of the Saint Louis, Southwestern Railway Company, authority is hereby granted for the adoption of Supplements Nos. 4 and 5 to Western Classification, covering Items 19 to 30, inclusive, subject to Arkansas Exception No. 1. for the transportation of freight between points in Arkansas.

In approval of Joint Application of the Saint Louis, Southwestern Railway Company, authority is hereby granted for the adoption of Supplement No. 13 to Arkansas Exceptions No. 1 for the transportation of freight between points in Arkansas, said Supplement can

In approval of Joint Application No. 40, submitted by the Saint Louis, Southwestern Railway Company, authority is hereby granted for the adoption of Supplement No. 6 to Western Classification No. 30 and No. 31 (when adopted) covering rulings that have been made and will apply as additions to and constructions of No. 30 and No. 31 (when adopted), subject to Arkansas Exceptions No. 1 to No. 30, and Railroad Commission Exception to No. 31, when issued. APPLYING BETWEEN POINTS IN ARKANSAS.

CIRCULAR NO. 72.

(Rulings on Exceptions to Arkansas Classifications No. 1.)
Between points in Arkansas.

Little Rock, Ark., January 18, 1901.

Effective January 18, 1901.

It is hereby ordered by the Railroad Commission of Arkansas that Joint Application No. 41, submitted by the Saint Louis, Southwestern Railroad Company, be approved, subjected to exceptions herein:

STONE, GRANITE AND MARBLE

Marble, Granite, Onyx and Slate Blocks or Slabs (including Plumbers' Marble and Printers' Imposing Stones), N. O. S., O. R. B., C., or chipping, or released, value restricted to 40 cents per cubic foot and so receipted for. Sawed, Dressed (not polished) or Hammered, boxed or not boxed....... Chiseled or Polished (ornamented or inscribed by hand or machine chiseling), chiseled or polished surfaces completely protected

Monuments or Tombstones (stone), O. R. B., or released, boxed or crated, value restricted to 40 cents per cubic foot and so receipted for, P. P. or guaranteed

Cut Stone, Marble, Tombstones, Monuments and Statutary, in pieces weighing five tons or over, to be loaded and unloaded at risk and expense of shipper and consignee.

EXCEPTIONS.

Marble, Granite, Jasper and Onyx, in block, rough, quarried or sawed, not polished or dressed, O. R. B., or released, valuation restricted to 40 cents per cubic foot (or less) and so receipted for, shall take Class E rating, as specified in Current Western Classification.

In approval of Joint Application, submitted under No. 45 of the Saint Louis, Southwestern Railway Company, authority is hereby granted for the adoption of Western Classification No. 31 for freights transported by railroads between points in Arkansas. Provided:

1. That said authority shall not be construed as cancelling the exceptions to Western Classification heretofore adopted, or the tariffs issued or approved by the Railroad Commission of Arkansas, or the rulings authorized by Circulars Nos. 48, 59 and 72, issued by this Commission May 21, 1900, August 12, 1900, and January 18, 1901, respectively.

2. That any ratings contained in said Western Classification No. 31, which are in conflict with the laws of Arkansas, shall not be regarded as approved for application by this authority.

CIRCULAR NO. 74.

(Adopting Arkansas Classification Exceptions No. 1-A. to Western Classification No. 31.)

Little Rock, Ark., February 4, 1901.

Effective February 20, 1901.

It is hereby ordered that Arkansas Classification Exceptions No. 1-A. shall on February 20, 1901, and until further notice by this Commission, govern in the transportation of freights by railroads between points in Arkansas; provided, that the Standard Freight Distance Tariff, Amendments thereto, and Special Rulings hereto

fore made and issued by this Commission, shall not be effected in any manner by said Exceptions to Western Classification No. 31; provided further, that where the Rulings of said Western Classification make lower rates such lower rates shall govern.

It is further ordered that all future Amendments or Supplements to said Exceptions No. 1-A, and all future issues of Arkansas Exceptions to Western Classification, and Amendments thereto, shall be submitted to this Commission upon application for adop tion, and that before any future Amendment or Supplement to said Exceptions No. 1-A, or any future Classification, or Amendment thereto, shall govern in the transportation of freights within the State of Arkansas, the same shall first be adopted by this Commission, and ten (10) days' notice given of such adoption before the same shall take effect; provided:

1. That if all the railroad companies in Arkansas shall unite in an application for the adoption of any future Amendment or Supplement to said Exceptions No. 1-A to Western Classification No. 31, which shall have the effect of reducing freight rates, the same, if adopted by this Commission, may, within the discretion of this Commission, take effect immediately upon adoption.

2. That nothing herein shall have the effect to adopt anything in said Exceptions to Western Classification No. 31, applying to freights in the State of Arkansas, or any Amendments. or Supplements to said Exceptions No. 1-A, in conflict with the laws of the State of Arkansas.

In approval of Joint Applications Nos. 42, 44, and 45, of the Saint Louis, Southwestern Railway Company, authority is hereby granted for the adoption of Supplements Nos. 7, 8, and 9, to Western Classification No. 31, covering Items Nos. 31 to 55, inclusive, for the transportation of freights between points in Arkansas, subject to rulings authorized by the Railroad Commission of Arkansas in Circulars Nos. 48, 59, and 72.

This order to take effect with date.

In approval of Joint Applications Nos. 48 and 49 of the Saint Louis, Southwestern Railway Company, authority is hereby granted for the adoption of Supplements Nos. 12 and 13 to Western Classification, covering Items 87 to 108, inclusive, for the transportation of freights between points in Arkansas, subject to the rulings authorized by the Railroad Commission of Arkansas.
