Sec. 9. The recorder's court shall have jurisdiction of all suits wherein the said board may be a party, and all prosecutions for violation of its by-laws and ordinances.

Sec. 10. The said board shall annually publish in some newsand contents paper of the city, (or in pamphlet form,) a statement of the number of schools in said city, the number of pupils instructed therein the year preceding, the several branches of education pursued by them, and the expenditures for all things authorized by this act.

Sec. 11. The board of education shall establish and maintain a district library.

AN ACT to amend section one, of act number two hundred and ninety-one, of the session laws of eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, entitled "An act to incorporate the village of Hubbardston," approved March second, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven.

The People of the State of Michigan enact, That Section section one, of act number two hundred and ninety-one, of the session laws of eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, entitled "An act to incorporate the village of Hubbardston," approved March second, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, be amended so as to read as follows:

SECTION 1. The People of the State of Michigan enact, That Boundaries. all of that tract of country situated in the counties of Ionia and Clinton, State of Michigan, and described as follows, to wit: The east half, and the east half of the west half of section number twelve; the north-east quarter, and the east half of the north-west quarter of section thirteen, township eight north, of range five west; and the west half of the west fractional half of section seven; and the west half of the northwest fractional quarter of section eighteen, in township eight north, of range four west, be and the same is hereby constituted a village corporate, by the name of the village of Hubbardston.

Sec. 2. This act shall take immediate effect.
