Paragraph, act of 1930 Schedule 1.-Chemicals, Oils, and Paints—Continued Classification 50 51 52 If at the end of 3 years after the enactment of this Act, the President finds that during the preceding 6 months the domestic production by quantity of synthetic camphor did not exceed 25 per cent of the domestic consumption thereof by quantity, or, at the end of 4 years after the enactment of this Act, that during the preceding 6 months such domestic production did not exceed 30 per cent of such consumption, or, at the end of 5 years after the enactment of this Act, that during the preceding 6 months such domestic production did not exceed 50 per cent of such consumption, he shall by proclamation so declare and, after 6 months thereafter, the rate on synthetic camphor shall be 1 cent per pound. To assist the President in making the investigation required by this provision, the Tariff Commission is empowered to investigate, to such extent as may be necessary, in the manner provided in the case of investigations under section 336 of this Act, and shall report to the President the result of its investigation.
