See note 1. 3 As identity of stations producing energy used at generating stations of the Brooklyn Edison and at Waterside stations of the New York Edison is not revealed by those companies, data for fuel consumed per kw. hr. generated and for energy generaled per kw. of capacity are only approximately correct for individual stations of those companies. 4 Most of the coal of this station is used for keeping the station in readiness for emergency service. 5 In addition, 168,717 cwt. of coke was consumed. This company operated its plant 141 days during the year. The average for the actual period of operation is 34,126 kw. hrs. 7 Based on total capacity, this ratio would be 2,484. See note 1. 8 Based on total capacity, this ratio would be 2,423. See note 1. TABLE XXI. COMPANY And Kind of MATERIAL Production of electric energy by companies and stations, 1917: (B) Quantity (cwt.) and cost of fuel The company returns $125,371.97 as cost of removing ashes, operating coal-storage plant and miscellaneous items for anthracite and bituminous steam coal combined. This amount is apportioned between the two according to the number of pounds of each consumed during the year. "An item of $40,297.19 for handling coal and ashes in connection with anthracite and bituminous steam coal combined is apportioned between the two according to the number of pounds of each consumed during the year. 3 The stock expense, $1,083.70, for "labor handling ashes "has been apportioned between the anthracite and bituminous coal according to the number of pounds of each consumed during the year. * Includes inventories of gas department, not separately reported by respondent. 5 Includes 2,043 cwt. of anthracite gas coal, costing $511.64, inclusive of $21.17 stock expense. See notes 11 and 12, Table IX, A. 6 Division made by arbitrarily assigning to the gas and electrical departments, respectively, one-half of the coal used elsewhere." 7 Stock expense apportioned to gas and electrical departments by the Bureau of Statics of this Commission according to the number of pounds consumed in each. 8 Division made by assigning to the gas and electrical departments, respectively, their share of the total cost, based on the unit cost of this kind of fuel, and the number of pounds of coal consumed by each. 9 Includes credits as follows: removing ashes, $134.23; steam sold, $1,885.75. In addition, respondent used under boilers, 168,717 cwt. of coke, costing $43,007.66, inclusive of $857.75 stock expense. note 9. 10 See |
