Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.-Is. lxii. 11.

acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.1 Tim. i. 15.

CHRIST ENDUED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. Is. xlii. 1

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.Matt. iii. 16, 17.

He whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. Is. xi. 2

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.-Acts.x. 38.

CHRIST'S LIFE OF POVERTY AND NEGLECT.

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. -Is. liii. 2, 3.

Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

And they were offended in him.-Matt. xiii. 55-57.

CHRIST'S ENTRY INTO JERUSALEM.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh

And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

And brought the ass,

unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.-Zech. ix. 9.

Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD.-Ps. 118, 25, 26.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength, because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.--Ps. viii. 2

and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.-Matt. xxi. 6, 7, 9.
