Castle Gate.-Ordered That the Chamberlains doe allow Mr Alderman Watkinson Three pounds towards carrying away the Dirt out of Castle gate the Inhabitants finding Fillers and the same 10 being to be left with a Ridge as itt now is.

The Bowling Green.-Ordered That Mr Alderman Barke, Mr Alderman Drury, Mr Partridge, Mr John Greaves, and Mr Chamberlain Trigge doe goe along with Mr Alderman Watkinson to the Coppice and sett him out some old Trees there to make stoops 15 Railes Pales for the Bowling Green att the Engine House.

Upon Applicacion this day made to this Hall by William Tomson on behalfe of Mr Thomas Smith to desire the Corporacion to pave the Streets against the Almshouses newly built by him.3 Itt is 20 ordered That his request be complyed with And That Mr Alderman Barke Mr Alderman Drury, Mr William Greaves Mr Collin and the Chamberlains doe sett out and agree what grounds shall be Paved on this account. 3476 fo. 15.

The Far Coppice.-The question being putt how many Burgesse 25 parts shall be now allotted in the Far Coppice Itt was carryed by

Memorandum this Day Mr Mayor brought into this Hall the Bylaw concerning Trade signed by Sir Salathiel Lovell Knight the only Judge who came the last Circuit.

The Stint.-Memorandum 'tis this day ordered That no person doe putt in above three head of Cattell into the Fields (this being 15 agreed to be the Stint) on pain each person to forfeit three Shillings and four pence who offends herein And 'tis further ordered That no person doe putt into the said Fields above fourty Sheep on pain aforesaid And this to be made Publick by the Common Cryer; And 'tis further Ordered That no person doe keep or tent his goods loose in the said Fields before all the Corn be gott in under pain aforesaid And That this be made also publick by the Common Cryer. 3477 fo. Memorandum That this day Mr Rippon, Mr Hemus, and John 5 Town reported That they had been att Lincolne about Achans Dole And Mr Walpole acquainted them That he had paid Mr Carter of Leicester £35 and likewise then paid Mr Hemus £5 so that next Ladyday there will be £3 - 5s in Arrears to this Town and the Lease to the present Tennant then expires. And Memorandum 'tis To ordered That Mr Carter be wrote to to know why the Money he has received has not been applyed to the use of the Charity.

The Free School.-Ordered That Mr Mayor Mr Alderman Salmon Mr Alderman Peake Mr Collin Mr Hemus and Mr Pennell doe before next Hall-day discourse the Usher of the Free school about some 20 Complaints made by him against the Headmaster and report next Hall day what those Complaints are And that the same persons doe appoint a place in the Free school where Mr Alderman Parkers Bookes are to be sett. 3477 fo. 18.

The Scavenger's Fee.-Memorandum this day a Lease was lett to 25 Mr Gervase Pilkinton (by Inch of Candle) of the Corn Tolls or Scavengers Fee for 7 yeares from the Expiracion of the old Lease to Mr Rooke att £51 5s. Fine and the old Rent and Covenant And Mr Rooke is to have liberty to take ye house down he has built on the Wast. 3477 fo. 18a. Memorandum this day a Lease was lett to Joseph Goodall of a Butchers Shop nigh the Weeke-Day Shambles which John Smith formerly had and some ground adjoyning close to the Pillar for 21 yeares from Michaelmas next att rod per Annum Rent and the usuall Covenants. 3477 fo. 18a.

The question being putt whether or no Mr 5 John Peake Junior be appointed and allowed to be Usher of the Free school instead of Mr Clarke who lately quitted the same. was carryed in the Affirmative And he is appointed and allowed accordingly in the presence and with the Consent of the Schoolwardens and he is to have the usuall Sallary and enter as from 10 Michaelmas last and allow for supplying the place to this time.

Sir Thomas White's Charity.-The question being putt whether or no a Surrender or Assignment of the Term of Twenty Thousand and one Yeares granted by the Corporation of Coventry of Sir 15 Thomas Whites Lands to the Merchant Taylors Company and the other 4 Corporacions be now Sealed or Deferred some time longer before itt be Sealed Itt was carryed In the Affirmative by the Majority of Votes And the same was now Sealed accordingly.
