Quare volumus, ac per praesentes pro nobis, haeredibus et successoribus nostris, firmiter injungendo praecipimus et mandamus, quod praefati Major et Burgenses villae de Nottingham praedicta, et successores sui, vigore praesentium bene, libere, licite, et quiete habeant, teneant, et custodiant, et habere, tenere, 5 et custodire valeant et possint imperpetuum praedictas ferias sive nundinas, unacum Curia Pedis Pulverizati et caeteris praemissis praedictis, secundum tenorem et veram intentionem. harum literarum nostrarum patentium absque molestatione, perturbatione, gravamine, sive contradictione nostri, haeredum io vel successorum nostrorum, vel aliquorum Vicecomitum, escaetorum, ballivorum, officiariorum, sive ministrorum nostrorum, haeredum vel successorum nostrorum quorumcunque ; et hoc absque aliquo alio warranto, brevi, vel processu imposterum in ea parte procurando vel obtinendo.

Denique volumus, ac per praesentes pro nobis, haeredibus et successoribus nostris, concedimus praefatis Majori et Burgensibus villae de Nottingham praedicta, et successoribus suis, quod hae literae nostrae patentes vel irrotulamentum earundem sint et erunt bonum, firmum, validum, sufficiens, et effectuale in lege 20 eisdem Majori et Burgensibus villae de Nottingham praedicta, et successoribus suis, secundum veram intentionem earundem. Wherefore we will, and do by these presents for us, our heirs QUEEN ANNE and successors, firmly enjoining command and order that the Enactment aforesaid Mayor and Burgesses of the town of Nottingham. aforesaid, and their successors, may, by force of these presents, 5 well, fully, lawfully, and quietly have, hold, and keep, and may and shall be able to have, hold, and keep for ever the aforesaid fairs, together with a Court of Piepowder and the other premises aforesaid, according to the tenor and true intent of these our letters patent without molestation, perturbation, grievance, or 10 contradiction of us, our heirs or successors, or of any Sheriffs, escheators, bailiffs, officers, or ministers of us, our heirs or successors whatsoever; and this without any other warrant, writ, or process to be hereafter procured or obtained in this behalf.

Finally we will, and do by these presents for us, our heirs 15 and successors, grant to the aforesaid Mayor and Burgesses of the town of Nottingham aforesaid, and to their successors, that these our letters patent and the enrolment of the same may and shall be good, firm, valid, sufficient, and effectual in law for the same Mayor and Burgesses of the town of Nottingham afore20 said, and their successors, according to the true intent of the

same.

In witness whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent. Witness myself, at Westminster, the thirtieth

day of August, in the eleventh year of our reign.
