LIBRARY

Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1857, by

THE PROTESTANT EPISCOPAL SOCIETY FOR THE PROMOTION OF
EVANGELICAL KNOWLEDGE,

In the Clerk's Uffice of the District Court of the United States for the
Southern District of New-York,

John A. Gray, PRINTER AND STEREOTYPER, 16 & 19 JACOB STREET.

PREFACE.

This book has been prepared at the repeated request f the Officers of the Society by which it is published. Its imperfections are probably more evident to no person than to the author.

The answers are intended to be entirely committed to memory; and it would be desirable, if time permit, that on every Sunday, when it is used, the whole of the Church Catechism, down to the Lesson, should be recited.

Should the book be used for two years, on every Sunday, the Lessons, one hundred and four in number, will be completed.
