4th. That the Governor be requested to forward a copy of the foregoing resolutions to each of our Senators and Representatives in Congress, and to each of the Governors of the several states of this Union.

Which resolutions were read a first time, and ordered to a second reading.

On motion of Mr. Barnes,

The House passed over the previous orders of the day, and
On motion of Mr. King,

The resolution from the Senate in relation to the committee on ap. portionments was taken up, and concurred in, and

Messrs. King, Thornton, Jackson, Chambers, Davis, Minor, Hancock, Jones and Simmons, were appointed that committee on the part of this House.

Mr. Price from the joint committee on Enrolled Bills, reported that said committee had presented to the governor for his approval, bills of the following titles to-wit.

"An act appropriating money for defraying the expenses of Government."

"An act to organize the county of Audrain," and "An act to organize the county of Clark."

Mr. Speaker laid before the House the following communication from the governor:

"An act to organize the county of Clark."

"An act to provide that an act entitled an act to provide for the sale of township school lands, in Saline and other counties, be made applicable to Lafayette and other counties."

"An act to express the assent of the state of Missouri, to the extension of the western boundary of the state."

"An act for the relief of Edwin Swink," and

Mr. Fort submitted the following resolution:

"Resolved, That the House will on each and every day after the reception of petitions, memorials and remonstrances, reports from standing and select committees, resolve itself into a committee of the whole, on the order of the day, and proceed to the consideration of the bill, to charter a bank until the same is disposed of,"

Which resolution was rejected.

Mr. Cravens of Pettis, pursuant to notice, leave being granted, introduced

"A bill, declaring a certain county road a part of the state road." Which was read a first time, and

Ordered to a second reading.

Mr. Price from the joint committee on enrolled bills, reported as truly enrolled

"A bill entitled an act, amendatory to an act, entitled an act, to restrain intercourse with Indians, approved, March the 9th, 1835. Which was signed by the Speaker, and taken to the Senate. On motion of Mr. Cravens of Pettis,

The following resolution was adopted.

"Resolved, That the committee on Ways and Means be instructed to report a law, obliging collectors of the revenue, whenever they receive taxes for land to designate in the receipt, the particular tract of Inad or town lot so receipted for.

On motion of Mr. McGunnegle,

The following resolution was adopted:

"Resolved, That the committee on the permanent Seat of Government inquire into the expediency of selling a portion of the lots in this city, belonging to the state during the present session of the General Assembly.

Mr. Wilson of Van Buren, gave notice, that he would on Monday

next, ask leave to introduce a bill to fix the county seat of Van Buren county.

Mr. Doniphan gave notice, that he would on Monday next ask leave to introduce a bill to annex the county lying North of the Missouri river, and West of the present boundary of the state, to the counties of Clay and Clinton, for civil and military purposes prospectively."

Mr. Clark presented the petition of the officers &c., of the 4th Brigade, second division Missouri Militia, which

On his motion,

The reading being dispensed with,

Was referred to the committee on the Militia. On motion of Mr. Gray,

"Resolved, That a select committee be raised to inquire into the expediency of regulating by law, the practice of medicine, and To report by bill or otherwise."

Whereupon, Messrs. Gray, Head and Minors were appointed that

committee.

The Speaker laid before the House the following communication from the Governor.

"Resolved, That the committee of Ways and Means be instructed to inquire into the expediency of so amending the revenue law, as to exempt all widows in this state, possessing neither land, negroes, nor any real estate from taxation."

Resolved, That the committee on the Judiciary, be instructed to inquire whether there be any law providing for the allotment of dower to widows in slaves and other personal estate, and if not, Report a bill providing for the same."

On motion of Mr. Chambers,

The committee of the Whole House were discharged from the further consideration of the bill, supplementary to an act, entitled

"An act, to provide for levying, assessing and collecting the state and county taxes, and

On his further motion,

The engrossed bills entitled

"A bill for the relief of Anderson Martin, late collector of Ray county," and

"A bill to legalize the sale of Township School Lands,”

Were each read the third time, and passed.

The engrossed bills from the Senate entitled

"An act, for the relief of Ezra Fox."

"An act to establish an Academy in the town of Liberty, Missouri."

"An act for the relief of the heirs of Finis W. Shannon deceased, and the guardians of said heirs."

"An act to authorize James A. Crump and others to keep a ferry at the city of Jefferson,'

Were severally read the first time, and ordered to a second reading.

On motion of Mr. Gordon,

The House again considered and receded from their amendments to the bill originating in the Senate, entitled

"An act for the relief of Joseph McCarty."

The amendments made by the Senate to the bills originating in the House entitled

"An act to incorporate the central fire company of the city of St. Louis."

"An act regulating proceedings on writs of mandamus" and "An act to survey and mark the nothern boundary line of the state," Were severally read and concurred in by the House.

Mr. Curle gave notice that on Monday next he would ask leave to introduce

"A bill to legalize the sale of lots in the town of Carrollton." "A bill to change a part of the state road in Carroll county," and "A bill for the relief of the clerk of the Carroll circuit court." Mr. Thomas from the committee on elections, to which was referred the certificate of the election of Corbin Alexander esq, a representative from the county of St. Francois, reported that the cer

tificate is in due form of law, and that said Alexander is duly elected a member of the 9th Generl Assembly.

A message from the Senate by Mr. Brown.

MR. SPEAKER-The Senate have passed a bill from the House of Representatives, entitled,

"An act supplementary of an act entitled an act concerning evidence."

The Senate have concurred in the amendments of the House, to an act entitled

"An act to pay Andrew Ramsey."

Messrs. Thompson, Jones of Cooper and McDaniel have been appointed a committee on the part of the Senate, to unite with the committee on the part of the House, to "arry into effect the resolu tion, relative to fixing the apportionment of representation among the several counties.

The Senate have passed a bill entitled

"An act supplementary to an act, entitled an act to incorporate a company to make a McAdamised road from the town of Caledonia in Washington county, to the Mississippi river, approved March 16,

1835."

Which is herewith sent for the concurrence of the House of Rep resentatives.

On motion of Mr. Wright of Warren

The House resolved itself into a committee of the Whole House, on the orders of the day, and after some time spent therein, the committee rose, and their chairman, Mr. Fort reported, that the commithad according to order, had under consideration,

"A bill for surveying and marking out a state road from Paris in Monroe county, to the mouth of the Des Moines river,"

And report the same without amendment, and

A bill to amend an act entitled

"An act respecting the Attorney General and Circuit Attornies," approved January 5, 1835, and

Have come to no conclusion thereon, and ask leave to sit again, Which was granted by the House.

The question was then taken on agreeing to the report. of the committee, as to the bill first named therein, and

Decided in the affirmative, and

The bill ordered to be engrossed and read the third time. Mr. Young from the joint committee on Enrolled Bills, reported as truly enrolled,

"An act to pay Andrew Ramsay,"

Which was signed by the Speaker of the House, and ordered to be taken to the Senate for the signature of the President of the Senate.

On motion,

The House adjourned until Monday next.
