SAMUEL A. WHITAKER, Chester County, was born at Phoenixville, Chester County, Pa., February 15, 1876; was educated in the public schools and the University of Pennsylvania, graduating from the College in 1896, and the Law Department in 1899; inmediately began the pratice of law in Chester County and in Philadelphia, where he was associated with J. Whitaker Thompson and Morris Dallett; is trust officer and director of Phoenixvile Trust Company; has always been active in the affairs of the Republican Party in Chester County; was Captain of Battery C, One Hundred Seventh Field Artillery during its Border service and in France and Belgium during the World War; was a member of the House of Representatives, sessions of 1913, 1915 and 1917, and in 1918, was nominated, but withdrew from the ticket while in France; again elected in November, 1920; was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, Apal 25, 1921.

CLARENCE A. WHITEHOUSE, Schuylkill County, was born April 30, 1880; was graduated from Princeton University in 1902; admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania in 1904; served as district attorney of Schuylkill County, 1912-1920; elected to the House of Representatives in November, 1920.

THOMAS MOORHEAD WHITEMAN, Westmoreland County, was born in Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pa., March 12, 1877; was graduated from Latrobe High School in 1894, and from Dickinson College in 1899, with degree of Ph. B.; in 1900, was awarded degree of A. M. by Dickinson College; was graduated from Columbia University School of Law in 1902, wit: degree of LL.B., and was admitted to the practice of law in New York State, in the same year in December, 1902, he helped form the Latrobe Printing and Publishing Company, of which he is president, and to establish the Latrobe Bulletin, of which he is managing editor; elected to the House of Representatives in 1918; re-elected in November, 1920.

GEORGE W. WILLIAMS, Tioga County, was born at Tioga, Tioga County, Pa., June 23, 1859; educated in the public schools of Wellsboro; is Trustee of the Green Home at Roaring Branch, Treasurer of the Water Company and Director of the Savings Building and Loan Associative, and President of the Tioga Washed Sand and Gravel Company; has been connected with the estate of William Bingham of Philadelphia, since 1880; was elected to the Senate on January 15, 1907, to fill a vacancy; served as a Republican presidential elector in 1908, elected to the House of Representatives in 1910, 1912, 1914, 1916 and 1918; re-elected in November, 1920.

SAMUEL B. WOLFE, Union County, was born at Lewisburg, Union County, Pa., August 4, 1878: educated in the public and private schools of Lewisburg; at an early age, clerked in a grocery store, subsequently, graduating from Keller's Business College, when he became secretary to Congressman Benjamin K. Focht; later, was manager and associate editor of the Lewisberg Saturday News; was twice elected delegate to the Republican State Convention, and secretary of the Union County Republican Committee, fifteen years; enlisted in Company A, Twelfth Regiment, N. G. P., in September, 1895, with which organization he served in the SpanishAmerican War in 1898; after the war he assisted in reorganizing the National GrÍ, enlisting in Company A, Twelfth Regiment, and served as corporal, sergeant, regimental sergeant, major, second and first lieutenant of Company A, later, being appointed Captain and Adjutant of the Twelfth Regiment, serving as such until February 19, 1916, when he was appointed Captain of Cavalry and commanded Troop M, First Pennsylvania Cavalry on the Mexican Border in 1916-1917; in the World War he served as captain of Cavalry, later being transferred to Artillery, commanding Battery A, Forty-ninth Field Artillery, subsequently being promoted to Major of Artillery and later assigned to command a Squadron in the Fourth United States Cavalry, with which organization he served until honorably discharged August 18, 1919; is at present Major of Cavalry in the N. G. P.; elected to the House of Representatives in November, 1920.

GEORGE IRVIN WONER, Butler County, was born at Canaan Center, Ohio, June 18, 1870; educated in common schools and at Wooster University, Ohio, completing course in the latter school in 1894, and received degree of A. M. in 1897; entered newspaper work as reporter 1895; became editor and manager of The Daily Republican, at Painesville, Ohio, in 1898: located at Butler, in 1906, as managing editor The Daily Eagle; became editor and manager The Daily Citizen in 1911; in 1913 organized The Ziegler Printing Company, Incorporated, and now conducts extensive printing and binding plant; president, Oakvale Realty Company, active in public development, church, Y. M. C. A. and temperance work; president Butler Bustness Men's Association, three years, and County Sabbath School Association, one year; director Chamber of Commerce; elected to the House of Representatives in 1918; re-elected in November, 1920.

WILLISTON P. WOOD, Warren County, was born at Titusville, Crawford County, Pa., Angust 22. 1877; educated in public schools including Warren High School and Business College: el producer and farmer at Grand Valley, where he has resided since 1878; delegate to Republican State Convention which nominated Governor Tener; elected to the House of Representatives t 1918; re-elected in November, 1920.

JOHN I. WOODRUFF, Snyder County, was born near Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pa., November 24, 1864; his early life was spent on his father's farm; received his early education in a country school; entered Susquehanna University where he studied for several years, later. Bucknell University, where he was graduated in 1890; before entering college he taught for several years in the public schools; after leaving college he engaged in teaching and educational work, and, since 1892, has been professor of English and Education in Susquehanna University from 1901 to 1904, was acting president of Susquehanna University; is a careful student of educational problems, an instructor at teachers' institutes and a lecturer on educational and so ciological subjects; in 1903, Wittenberg College conferred on him the degree of doctor of t erature; served as a member of the Council of National Defense and the Committee on Pul Safety during the World War; was elected to the House of Representatives in 1918; re-elected in November, 1920.

SIMON F. ZOOK, Blair County, was born on a farm at Curryville, Blair County, Pa., March ** 1887 was educated in the common schools and Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pa.; taught school four terms; was a traveling salesman four years, and five years ago, bought his father's farm where he now resides; is a breeder of purebred Holstein cattle and Berkshire swine: is a member of the executive committee of the Blair County Farm Bureau; elected to the House of Representatives in November, 1918; re-elected in November, 1920.
