The total amount of above fines, $580, has been deposited in the City treasury to credit of the Sinking Fund for the Payment of the Interest on the City Debt.

Pursuant to section 6, chapter 420, Laws of 1888, the amount of these fines is payable to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Resolved, That a warrant payable from the Sinking Fund for the Payment of the Interest on the City Debt be drawn in favor of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for the sum of five hundred and eighty dollars ($580), being the amount of fines for cruelty to animals, imposed and collected in the Court of Special Sessions, First and Second Divisions, in the month of April, 1901, and payable to the said society pursuant to section 6, chapter 420, Laws of 1888.

Which resolution was unanimously adopted.

The Comptroller presented the following statement and resolution relative to fines payable to the Medical Society of the County of New York :

MAY 13, 1901.

SIR-The following fines for violations of medical law were imposed and collected by the Court of Special Sessions, First Division, in the month of April, 1901, viz. :

The above cases were severally prosecuted by the Medical Society of the County of New York.

Pursuant to sections 153 and 164, chapter 661, Laws of 1893, the amount of such fines is payable to the said society.

The above amount of fines was deposited in the City treasury to the credit of the Sinking Fund for the Payment of the Interest on the City Debt.

Resolved, That a warrant payable from the Sinking Fund for the Payment of the Interest on the City Debt, be drawn in favor of the Medical Society of the County of New York, for the sum of two hundred dollars ($200), being the amount of fines for violation of the medical law, imposed and collected by the Court of Special Sessions, First Division, in the month of April, 1901, and payable to said society pursuant to sections 153 and 164, chapter 661, Laws of 1893. Which resolution was unanimously adopted.

SIR-During the month of April, 1901, the following fines for violations of the dental law were imposed and collected by the Court of Special Sessions, viz. :

The amount of the above fines was deposited in the City treasury to credit of the Sinking Fund for the Payment of the Interest on the City Debt.

Each of the cases named was presented by the Dental Society of the State of New York, to which society the amount of said fines is payable pursuant to section 164 of chapter 661 of the Laws of 1893.

Resolved, That a warrant payable from the Sinking Fund for the Payment of the Interest on the City Debt be drawn in favor of the Dental Society of the State of New York for the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars ($150), being amount of fines for illegally practicing dentistry, imposed and collected by the Court of Special Sessions, First and Second Divisions, in the month of April, 1901, and payable to the said society pursuant to section 164, chapter 661 of the Laws of 1893.

Which resolution was unanimously adopted.

The Comptroller presented the following statement and resolution relative to fines payable to the Trustees of the College of Pharmacy of The City of New York, and to the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy :

MAY 14, 1901.

DEAR SIR-The following fines for violations of the pharmacy laws have been imposed aud collected by the Court of Special Sessions, First Division, during the months of October, 1900, to January, 1901, inclusive:

Pursuant to section 1519 of the Greater New York Charter, the amount of these fines is payable, viz.: three-fifths, or $420, to the Trustees of the College of Pharmacy of The City of New York, and two-fifths, or $280, to the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy.

The amount collected was deposited in the City treasury to credit of the Sinking Fund for the Payment of the Interest on the City Debt.

Resolved, That warrants payable from the Sinking Fund for the Payment of the Interest on the City Debt be drawn in favor of the Trustees of the College of Pharmacy of the City of New York for four hundred and twenty dollars, and in favor of the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy for two hundred and eighty dollars, making a total of seven hundred dollars ($700), amount of fines for violations of pharmacy laws imposed and collected by the Court of Special Sessions, First Division, during the months of October, 1900, to January, 1901, inclusive, and payable to the said College of Pharmacy in the proportion of three-fifths to the New York and two-fifths to the Brooklyn College, pursuant to section 1519 of the Greater New York Charter.

Which resolution was unanimously adopted.

The Comptroller presented the following statement and resolution relative to fines payable to the Health Department Pension Fund:

Hon. BIRD S. COLER, Comptroller:

MAY 14, 1901.

SIR-The Trustees of the Health Department Pension Fund ask for the payment to the said fund of amount of fines for violations of the Sanitary Code imposed and collected by Court of

Special Sessions, First and Second Divisions, as per statement submitted during the quarter ending March 31, 1901. The returns of Court show that the cases were prosecuted by officers of the Health Department. The amount collected, viz.:
