OUR Majefty having been graciously pleased to

grant me Your Permiffion for publishing these REPORTS, I beg Leave, with all Humility, to lay them at Your Majesty's Feet.

Each of them have already been prefented to Your Majesty in Manufcript: The very gracious Manner in which you condefcended to receive them, is a flattering Mark of Your Royal Approbation, and will insure them the favourable Attention of the Public.

It does not become me to enlarge upon their Utility; of that, Your Majesty and the Public will judge: Should

it bear any Proportion to the Zeal, Impartiality, Ability, and perfevering Induftry of the Commiffioners, this Nation will have reason to applaud the Inftitution.

That Your Majefty's Reign may be long, happy, and glorious, over a free, united, and grateful People, is the moft ardent Wish of

HE Intent of this Publication, is to preserve to the Public, a correct Copy of these REPORTS and APPENDIXES; which are complete to the End of the Laft Seffion of Parliament. Those presented during the Present Seffion, will be published in a fhort Time; with a General Index to the Whole.

Ir was the original Intention of the Editor, to have prefixed a fhort historical Sketch of former Commiffions of Accounts; but the Difficulty of procuring Materials for an accurate Investigation of the Subject, makes it neceffary to poftpone it for the present.
