The plaintiff demands fifty dollars of the defendant for the principal and interest due to the plaintiff on a certain promissory note made by the defendant, and by him given to the plaintiff, dated on the first day of January, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty, whereby he promised, three months after date, to pay to the plaintiff or order, forty-five dol lars, principal and interest, without defalcation or discount, for value received.

The plaintiff demands twenty dollars of the defendant, for the principal and interest due the plaintiff on a certain promissory note, given by one Philip Zahn to the defendant for fifteen dollars, dated June 1st, A. D., one thousand eight hundred and fifty, payable to the said defendant, or order, six months after date; which note the defendant on the day and year aforesaid, for value received, endorsed and assigned to the plaintiff; and the plaintiff avers that after the said note was assigned to him, and when the same became due and payable, he presented the same to the said Philip Zahn, and demanded of him the payment thereof; but the said Philip Zahn refused and neglected to pay the same, and doth still refuse and neglect to pay the said note and the interest thereon, to the plaintiff.

Der Kläger fordert vom Beklagten fünfzig Dollars, die Kläger auf einen gewissen, vom Beklagten ausgestellten und ihm, dem Kläger, ausgehändigten Wechsel, datirt vom ersten Januar im Jahre unsers Herrn eintausend achthundert und fünfzig, durch den er versprach, drei Monate nach dem Datum an den Kläger oder dessen Ordre fünf und vierzig Dollars ohne Abzug oder Disconto für empfangenen Werth zu bezahlen, an Hauptsumme und Interessen zu fordern hat. 1. März 1853.

Der Kläger fordert von dem Beklagten zwanzig Dollars, die diefer dem Kläger als Hauptfumme und Interessen auf einen gewissen Wechsel schuldig ist, welchen ein gewisser Philipp Zahn dem Beklagten am 1. Juli eintausend achthundert und fünfzig für fünfzehn Dollars, zahlbar an besagten Beklagten, oder dessen Ordre, sechs Monate nach dem Datum ausgestellt; welchen Wechsel der Beklagte an dem vorbesagten Tage und Jahre an den Kläger für empfangenen Werth indossirt und cedirt hat; und der Kläger bestätigt, daß er den besagten Wechsel, nachdem er ihn cedirt und später fällig geworden, dem besagten Philipp Zahn präsentirt und von ihm die Bezahlung desselben verlangt hat, welche aber der besagte Philipp Zahn verweigert und zu leisten verabsäumt, wodurch der Beklagte veroinvlich geworden ist, den besagten Wechsel mit den daraus fälligen Interessen dem Kläger zu bezahlen.

The plaintiff demands fifty dollars due to the plaintiff from the defendant for wages of plaintiff, as the hired laborer of the defendant, which services and labor was done and performed by the plaintiff, at the defendant's request, in and about the workshop of the defendant from the first day of May, to the fifteenth day of July, 1853.

The plaintiff demands of the defendant seventy five dollars, for a lot of building-stone, sold and delivered to the defendant on the 1st day of August, 1852, at his request.

PART TWENTIETH.
CERTIFICATES.

Some contracts, as we have pointed out in several cases, requir to be certified by a magistrate. The same officers are not author ized to attach certificates in all the States, and we can only add here, that this privilege is lirted to the jurisdiction of the city and county in which the officer resides.

1. Certificate, verifying that the Deed has been acknowledged by a pers› known to the Magistrate.
