I. BONDS AND OBLIGATIONS.

Bonds or Obligations are written deeds of a loan received, consisting of money (cash or paper money,) of public securities

10. Widerruf einer Vollmacht.

Kund und zu wissen sei Jedermann durch Gegenwärtiges: Daß, nachdem ich, Francis Broom von in und durch meine am 1. April 1850 ausgestellte Vollmacht James Deal vonzu meinem wahren und geseglichen Bevollmächtigten ernannt, eingesezt und bestellt habe, damit er für mich und in meinem Namen (hier ist der Inhalt der Vollmacht anzugeben) 2., wie aus der besagten Vollmacht des Näheren hervorgeht: Deßhalb nun habe ich, der besagte Francis Broom, die besagte Vollmacht und alle dadurch dem besagten James Deal ertheilte oder zu ertheilen beabsichtigte Macht und Gewalt widerrufen, zurückgenommen, annullirt und, für ungültig erklärt und widerrufe sie, nehme sie zurück, annullirè und erkläre dieselbe durch Gegenwärtiges für ungültig.

Zur Urkunde dessen habe ich hiernach meine Unterschrift gesezt und mein Siegel beigedrückt den ersten August ein tausend acht hundert und fünfzig.

Dann weiter:) Die Bedingung der vorstehenden Verschreibung ist die, daß, wenn der dadurch verbundene Albert Kurz, seine Erben, Testamentsvollstrecker oder Vermögensverwalter an den vorgenannten Hermann Lang, seine Testamentsvollstrecker, Vermögensverwalter oder Cessionare tt die schuldige Summe von-Dollars auf folgende Weise gut, vollständig und richtig heimbezahlen, nämlich die Summe von Dollars am 1. Juli d. J.; die Summe von Dollars am 1. Okt. d. Know all men by these presents: That I, (as in form 2, to the ttt, and then add :) the just and full sum of lárs, on the 3d day of March, in the year of our Lord, 1850, and the legal interest thereon, to be computed from the day of the date hereof, and to be paid semi-annally, on the second day of January, and the first day of July, in each and every year; then the above obligation to be void; else to remain in full force and virtue. And it is hereby expressly agreed, that should any default be made in the payment of said interest, or of any part thereof, on any day whereon the same is made payable, as above expressed, and should the same remain unpaid and in arrear, for the space of sixty days, then, and from thenceforth, that is to say, after the lapse of the said sixty days, the aforesaid principal sum of dollars, with all arrearages of interest thereon, shall, at the option of the said Hermann Lang, his executors, administrators, or assigns, become and be due and payable, im mediately thereafter, although the period above limited for the payment thereof may not then have expired; anything hereinbefore contained to the contrary thereof, in any wise notwith standing.

Know all men by these presents: That I, Albert Kurz, of am held and firmly bound, unto J. Smith and F. Wurst, of executors of the last will and testament of L. Gross, deceased, late of in the sum of one thousand dollars* lawful money of the United States, to be paid to the said J Smith and F. Wurst, executors as aforesaid, the survivors, of survivor, or his or their assigns; for which payment, well and truly to be made, I bind myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents.

Note to No. 4. It will be seen at once that the debt is first stated to be one thousand dollars, and further on to be five hundred. But in most of the States there exists still the ridiculous practice for the debtor to state in his bond double the amount of the sum to be paid, saying afterwards that only one-half of that amount, if the capital and interest are paid in due time. will liquidate the debt.
