There are also collections of the poetry of special countries, such as Stedman's American anthology and his Victorian anthology, Quiller-Couch's Oxford book of English verse, Wilson's The poets and poetry of Scotland, Ward's English poets, etc., which may be classed among reference books.

In many public libraries it is necessary to keep a card index of titles of poems for use of the reference department. The Carnegie library of Pittsburg has a card index to 15000 poems contained in 70 volumes of poetical selections.
