11. That every person, to whom the Commissioners of the Centre Market shall or may assign, or cause to be assigned by the Clerk thereof, a stand for the getables, time selling of vegetables or other provisions at the said of its continuMarket, shall pay to the said Clerk twenty-five cents in advance, which payment shall entitle such person to the use of such stand for one week and no longer, and which payment in advance shall be continued every week, while such person brings or sends vegetables or other provisions to the said market for sale; but any transient person, who brings only occasionally vegetables or other provisions to Market, shall pay twelve and a half cents per day for the use of a stand. Provided however, that every slave carrying grain, fruit, victuals, or other provisions, about the streets for sale, (fresh fish and other aquatic animals excepted,) shall have a ticket under the signature of his or her owner, or of some other free person, having the care or government of such slave, in which ticket the name of such slave, as well as the quantity and quality of the articles, by him or her carried for sale as aforesaid, shall be specified: And provided also, that every such article shall have been raised or cultivated by or for the owner or employer of such slave, and shall then be offered for sale at the first hand. 13.
