Kings County, L. I.

Deed dated May 1, 1875.

Conveys: Land in the Nine Partners Precinct, Duchess County.

The will of Johannis Van Voorhis is recorded in the office of the Surrogate of the City and County of New York.

JOHANNIS VAN VOORHIS,

of New York City.

Will dated July 4, 1804.

Proved Sept. 28, 1804.
Recorded Liber 45, p. 246.

In the name of God, Amen: I, Johannis Van Voorhis, of the City, County, and State of New York, being weak in body, but of sound mind and memory, blessed be God; calling to mind the uncertainty of this life, do make, publish, and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following, revoking and disallowing all former Wills; that is to say, I give my body to the earth from whence I received it, in full assurance of its resurrection at the last day, to be buried in a christianlike manner, at the discretlon of my Executors hereinafter named. Imprimis: I give my soul to God who gave it me, in full assurance of his gracious acceptance, through the merits of my most compassionate Saviour, Jesus Christ. As for my worldly wealth wherewith it has pleased God to bless me, it is my Will, and I do positively order that my just debts and funeral charges be paid by my Executors as soon as convenient after my death, out of my Estate. Firstly, It is my Will, and I do give, devise, and bequeath unto my loving wife Johannah, in lieu of her dower, the full use and benefit of all my Estate, real and personal, remaining after my just debts are paid, during the time of her widowhood. Secondly, It is my Will, and I do order that after the remarriage or decease of my wife Johanna, all my estate, real and personal, be sold by my Executors, and the monies arising from said sale be distributed in manner following, that is to say: I give, devise, and bequeath unto my daughter Titera Two hundred and fifty dollars, before any division is made

of the aforesaid monies. Thirdly, I do give, devise, and bequeath the remainder of the monies as aforesaid unto my seven children, Sarah, Titera, Catherine, Coert, Henry, Johanna, and Elsie, to be divided between them, share and share alike; and in case either of my said children should die leaving issue, that my grandchild or grandchildren shall come in and be entitled to the share of their Father or Mother, as the case may be. Lastly, I do hereby constitute, ordain, and empower my loving wife Johanna, and my son Coert Van Voorhis, and my nephew, John H. Van Beuren, to be the sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament, ratifying, confirming, and declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this fourth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four.
