be a certification by the consistories of the Poughkeepsie and Fishkill churches as to the organization of the Fishkill church, and an agreement to call a minister from Holland for the two churches, resulting in a call to the Rev. Cornelius Van Schie, and is dated at Poughkeepsie, Sept. 30, 1734. A fac-simile of the paper, with original signatures also, is contained in the earliest record book of the Poughkeepsie church. Appended to the document are the following signatures:

The second recorded church paper is an agreement (in the Dutch language) between the churches of Fishkill and Poughkeepsie, through their consistories, to send for a minister from Holland after the departure of the Rev. C. van Schie, appended to which are nine signatures, among which is that of

A request (in the Dutch language) for a minister from Holland, addressed to the Rev. H. L. Beels, promising to raise the salary from £80 to £100, appended to which are seven signatures, among which is that of

The family Bible of Johannes Coerte Van Voorhees having passed at his death into the possession of his eldest son, Coert, and on the death of Coert, into the possession of his eldest son, Henry, is now the property of Mr. John Courtland Van Voorhis, of Malden, Mass., a grandson of the said Henry, and contains entries of births and marriages by Johannes Coerte Van Voorhees, Coert Van Voorhees, Johannis Van Voorhees, Junior, and Elias Dubois, a sonin-law of Johannes Coerte Van Voorhees the entries by Johannes Coerte Van Voorhees and Coert Van Voorhees being in the Dutch language.

The following entries are by Johannes Coerte Van Voorhees. Ick, Johannes Koerten, ben Geboren Den 20 April, in Het yaer 1683.
