ALL GENERAL LAWS PASSED BY THE LEGISLATURE WITH FULL ANNOTATIONS OF ALL DECISIONS RENDERED BY THE NEBRASKA SUPREME COU T IN STANDARD LAW MAGAZINES. PREPARED BY AUTHORITY OF THE LEGISLATURE BY J. E. COBBEY, B.S., LL.B. PUBLISHED AND FOLD BY J. E. COBBEY, BEATRICE, NEBRASKA, PREFACE. The act of the legislature authorizing this supplement will be found as secs. 6988-89, p. 207, of this volume. The plan of keeping the statute up to date by supplement is new in this state, though it has long been followed by the Federal Government and many of the states. If it proves satisfactory it will be continued. If not, it will be abandoned and the entire statute published new after each legislative session. The cost of this supplement has been far beyond my estimate. This is due to the fact that the last legislature amended more than the usual number of existing laws, as well as surpassing other legislatures in the number of new laws enacted. Among the new laws are three, an unusual number, of great length: the Omaha Charter, the Military Code, and the Negotiable Instruments act. With the knowledge gained by this experience I believe that generally a supplement containing the changes and new laws made by one legislature and the annotations of two years' decisions can be furnished the purchaser at $1.00, or about half the cost of the 1905 supplement. To the many friends who have made suggestions looking to the improvement of the Annotated Statutes, both verbally and by letter, I return thanks. Some of the suggestions have been adopted; others will be when a new edition is issued; and others are still under consideration. All such suggestions are gladly received and considered. Hoping this effort to keep a first-class statute within a reasonable price will meet the expectations of its friends, it is submitted for their use. Beatrice, Neb. July 1, 1905. J. Bobbey введ |
