Sec. 20. And be it further enacted, That the Prefident of the United States be, and he is hereby authorized to caufe to be clearly afcertained and diftinctly marked, in all fuch places as he fhali deem neceffary, and in fuch manner as he fhall direct, any other boundary lines between the United States and any Indian tribe, which now are, or hereafter may be established by treaty.

And be it further enacted, That He may take the Prefident of the United States be authorized to take fuch measures, from time to time, as to him may appear expedient to prevent or reftrain the vending or diftributing of fpirituous liquors among all or any of the faid Indian tribes, any thing herein contained to the contrary thereof notwith ftanding.

CHAPTER XIV.

AN ACT to authorize the Prefident of the United States to convey certain parcels of land therein mentioned.

E it enacted by the Senate and House of Reprefentatives of the United States of America, in Congrefs affembled, That the Prefident of the United States be, and he here. by is authorized, to grant and convey, in fee fimple, by patent or otherwife, unto Cornelius Vermule and Andrew Codmas, refpectively, certain parcels of lands fituate in the county of Effex, in the State of New Jersey, which in the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine, had been purchased for a military cantonment, and which were fold to them in the year following, by order of the fecretary at war, and the price received.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That fuch grant and conveyance, fhall veft in the faid Cornelius Vermule and Andrew Codmas, respectively, an abfolute eftate, in fee simple, in the lands refpectively, purchased by them as aforefaid.

E it enacted by the Senate and Houfe of Reprefentatives of the United States of America, in Congress affembled, That the fum Appropriation. of one hundred thousand dollars, to be paid out of any monies in the treafury, not otherwife appropriated, fhall be, and the fame hereby is appropriated towards defraying the expenditure of the civil lift, including the contingent expenses of the feveral departments, during the year one thoufand eight hundred and two.

AN ACT making appropriation for defraying the expenfe of a negociation with the British government, to ascertain the boundary line between the United States and Upper Canada.

AN ACT making an appropriation for defraying the expenfes which may arife from carrying into effect the convention made between the United States and the French Republic.

E it enacted by the Senate and House of Reprefentatives of the United States of America, in Congress affembled, That for the payment of fuch demands as may be justly due for French veffels and proper

propriation.

Specific ap ty captured, and which must be restored or paid for, purfuant to the convention between the United States and the French republic, there be appropriated a fum not exceeding three hundred and eighteen thousand dollars, to be paid, under the direction of the Prefident of the United States, out of any public money in the treafury, not otherwise appropriated.
