these people what they are missing by not being members and use every effort to secure their membership.

PRESIDENT EMMONS:- I take pleasure in introducing the Fourth Vice-President, the new member among the VicePresidents, Mr. W. H. Sawyer.

W. H. SAWYER:- Ladies and gentlemen: Our Association has had an illustrious past. It is my chief ambition, and I believe a worthy one, to be of assistance during the coming year in not only continuing our splendid record, but meeting the changed and changing conditions. I am for this Association heart and soul. I am for it because I know that it is necessary to the success of the Executives in giving the satisfactory, efficient transportation service that we desire to give our cus

tomers.

I thank you for the opportunity of assisting in this great work.

PRESIDENT EM MONS:- I take pleasure in introducing our re-elected Treasurer, Mr. Barron Collier. I think he is the first Treasurer who has been able to make a satisfactory financial report to our Association.

BARRON COLLIER: Mr. President, ladies and fellowmembers: It would be a very poor return for this very great honor that has been conferred upon me to attempt to make a speech at this time. It did not require a phrenologist to cause me to realize that my bump of eloquence was a dent. I might even get away with it by saying that I had a good line of talk committed to memory, but this formidable line of officials of our Association have one by one preceded me and have covered about all of its suggestions, that I shall refrain from endeavoring to repeat that which has already been so well stated.

However, I have been selected as your Treasurer and I believe that the province of the Treasurer is to collect as much money for this Association as may be possible and hang on to it, and I am fortunate in being able to say that a recollection

of our report already submitted indicates that our Treasury was in a very satisfactory condition.

I thank you, gentlemen, for the privilege of serving you.

PRESIDENT EMMONS: Is there any other business the members of the Association wish to bring before this meeting? If not, the Forty-first Annual Convention of the American Electric Railway Association will stand adjourned.
