She stood up and crossed her arms, and I realized I was alone in the room with no witnesses and no mast to climb to get away. I went out for recess. I kept a perimeter of about ten feet or so around me, and stayed in Mrs. Sidman's line ...

Ulasan Pengguna - ms_rowse - LibraryThingLove love love this book. I want to be Mrs. Baker--she is the perfect teacher. Nice coming-of-age story...if Holling Hoodhood (the protagonist) was older, I'd lobby to teach this instead of Catcher in the Rye. Way more hopeful but with similar themes. Loved it!
