Halaman 4-6 - Another factor that contributes to this overstatement of urban births is the customary procedure of using "city" addresses for persons living outside the city limits. Incomplete residence — Beginning in 1973 where only the State of residence is reported with no city or county specified and the State named is different from the State of occurrence, the birth is allocated to the largest city of the State of residence.

In 1974, 0.3 percent of all births were delivered by physicians outside of hospitals; in 1975 this proportion was 0.4 percent.
