In Ohio and a few other States, where the legislative sessions are biennial. the Legislature holds "Adjourned sessions, practically amounting to annual meetings. The Rhode Island Legislature is required to meet annually the last Tuesday in May, at Newport, and an adjourned session to be holden annually at Providence. Unless extended by special vote.
