CHAPTER LXXVI.

An Act relating to the Sioux War Fund.

SECTION 1. Transfer to the Sioux War Fund money belonging to the United States War Tax Fund. 2. Sioux War claims to be paid from funds so transferred.

Beit enacted by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota:

SECTION 1. That the State Treasurer is hereby authorized and required to set apart and transfer to the Sioux war fund the money now remaining in the treasury belonging to the United States war-tax fund, (forty thousand five hundred and six dollars and thirty-eight cents,) and to notify the State Auditor of the amount of money so transferred and set apart, and also of any and all sums of money that may hereafter come into the treasury belonging to such fund, and to pay out the same upon warrants drawn by the State Auditor upon said Sioux war fund as hereinafter provided.

SEC. 2. The State Auditor is hereby authorized and required to draw his warrants upon the State Sioux war claims Treasurer, payable from the Sioux war fund, for the payment of the Sioux war claims now outstanding against this State, which shall have been duly audited and allowed by the board of auditors in pursuance of law: Provided, That the warrants so drawn shall not in the aggregate exceed the amount of money in the treasury belonging to said Sioux war fund.

CHAPTER LXXVII.

An Act to provide instruction for the Deaf and Dumb February 28, 1865. of this State, and to appropriate money therefor.

SECTION 1. Appropriation for the support and education of the Deaf and Blind.

2. When act to take effect.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota:

SECTION 1. The sum of five thousand dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropri- the support and ated out of any moneys not otherwise appropriated, education of the for the support and instruction of the deaf mutes, and blind of this State, and for the payment of expenses incident thereto.

SEC. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER LXXVIII.

An Act to cover deficiencies therein stated, for eighteen February 16, 1885. hundred and sixty-four.

SECTION 1. Appropriations for deficiencies for eighteen hu adred and sixty-four.

1. Deficiency for inspection of State Road from Madelia to a point on the western
boundary of the State.

2. Deficiency for relief of Sioux sufferers.

3. Deiciency on account of Gettysburg National Cemetery.

SECTION 1. The following sums of money, or so

much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the treasury belonging to the general revenue fund not otherwise appropriated :

1st. For deficiency on account of State agent inspecting State road from Madelia, in Watonwan county, to a point on the western boundary of the State, one hundred and fifty dollars.

2d. For deficiency of appropriation for relief to Sioux sufferers, one thousand dollars, the same to be paid out of the balance remaining in the treasury to the credit of the refugee fund.

3d. For deficiency on account of lot in the Gettysburg National Cemetery, for the State of Minnesota, nine hundred dollars.

SEC. 2. This act shall take effect from and after its passage.

January 16, 1865. An Act to appropriate money for per diem, mileage, newspapers, postage and stationery of the members and officers of the present Legislature.

2. Deficiency of appropriation for clerk hire in the office of the Adjutant Gon

eral.

3. Deficiency of appropriation for postage, stationery, etc., in the office of the
Adjutant General.

4. Deficiency of appropriation for State Arsenal, rent of Powder Magazine, etc.

5. Deficiency of appropriation for printing for State Officers.

6. Deficiency of appropriation for printing Laws and Journals.

7. Deficiency of appropriation for State Printer.

8. Deficiency on account of Board of Examining Surgeons.

9. Deficiency of appropriation for support of the Insane..

10. Deficiency of appropriation for fuel and lights for Legislature.

11. Deficiency of appropriation for repairs of Capitol.

12. Deficiency of appropriation for support of the Deaf and Blind.

13. Deficiency of appropriation for per diem, etc., of commissioners to take sol-
diers' votes.

14. Deficiency of appropriation for Executive contingent fund.

15. Deficiency of appropriation for mileage and per diem of Presidential Electors.
16. Deficiency on account of boxes for the distribution of Session Laws.

17. Deficiency on account of approval of military bills.

2. When act to take effect.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota :

Appropriations for

SECTION 1. That the following sums of money, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same deficiencies. are hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the treasury belonging to the general revenue fund not otherwise appropriated:

1st. For deficiency of appropriation for the payment of the salary of the Adjutant General, two hundred dollars.

2d. For deficiency of appropriation for clerk hire in the office of the Adjutant General, two hundred and thirteen dollars and seventy-two cents.

3d. For deficiency of appropriation for postage, stationery, and other incidental expenses in the office of the Adjutant General, sixty-six dollars.

4th. For deficiency of appropriation for State Arsenal, rent of Powder Magazine and other incidental expenses connected therewith, one hundred and ninetynine dollars and eighty cents.

5th. For deficiency of appropriation for printing and advertising for State Officers, three thousand five hundred dollars.

6th. For deficiency of appropriation for printing laws and journals, eight hundred and fifty-seven dollars and seventy-two cents.

7th. Fordeficiency of appropriation for State Prison, eight hundred dollars.

8th. For deficiency on account of Board of Examining Surgeons, one hundred dollars.

9th. For deficiency of appropriation for the support of the Insane, five hundred dollars.

10th. For deficiency of appropriation for fuel and lights for both houses of the Legislature, and for the several State Officers, two hundred and fifty dollars.

11th. For deficiency of appropriation for repairs of Capitol, according to joint resolution of the Legislature, nine hundred dollars.

12th. For deficiency of appropriation for the support and instruction of the deaf, mute and blind of the State, three hundred and fifty dollars.

13th. For deficiency of appropriation for the per diem, mileage and stationery of the commissioners in obtaining soldiers' votes, twelve hundred dollars.

14th. For deficiency of appropriation of the Executive contingent fund for State purposes, three hundred dollars.

15th. For deficiency on account of mileage and per diem of Presidential Electors in canvassing the votes for President and Vice President of the United States, one hundred and fifty-three dollars.
