(1) of having shown to the satisfation of me [or us] the undersigned that he hath given bond to Her Majesty as by the required and also given fourteen days previous notice to the immigration agent of his intention to make application for a license to carry on the business of a passage broker in respect of passages from Victoria to any place out of the said colony coming under the operation of any Proclamation from time to time issued by the Governor of Victoria under an Act of the Imperial Parliament called “The Passengers Act 1855” I [or we] the undersigned having had no sufficient cause shown to me [or us] and seeing no valid reason why the said A.B. should not receive such license do hereby license and authorize the said A.B. to carry on the business of a passage broker as aforesaid until the end of the present year and thirty-one days afterwards unless this license shall be sooner determined by forfeiture for misconduct on the part of the said A.B. as in "The Passengers Harbors and Navigation Statute 1865" is provided. NOTICE TO CABIN PASSENGERS.

1. If cabin passengers through no default of their own fail to obtain a passage in the ship and on the day named in this contract ticket they may obtain redress for breach of contract by summary process under the seventy-third section of "The Passengers Act 1855" or the tenth section of "The assengers Harbors and Navigation Statute 1865.”

2. Cabin passengers must produce on demand their contract ticket to the Government emigration officer under a penalty not exceeding £10. This ticket should therefore be preserved and kept in readiness to be produced on board the ship.

PASSENGER CONTRACT TICKET.

1. A contract ticket in this form must be given to every passenger engaging a passage from Victoria to any place out of the said colony coming under the operation of any Proclamation from time to time issued by the Governor of the colony under an Act of the Imperial Parliament called "The Passengers Act 1855."

2. The victualling scale for the voyage must be printed in the body of the ticket.

3. All the blanks must be correctly filled in and the ticket must be legibly signed with the christian names and surname and address in full of the party issuing the same.

4. The day of the month on which the passengers are to embark must be inserted in words and not in figures.

5. When once issued this ticket must not be withdrawn from the passenger nor any alteration addition or erasure made in it.

All ships belonging to Her Majesty all ships outfitting to or refitting from the fisheries all ships employed in the coasting trade all ships actually trading between any port of Victoria and of any of the colonies of New South Wales Queensland Tasmania New Zealand Western and South Australia (the master of such ship holding a certificate from the Pilot Board that he is competent to act as pilot to such trader) unless the services of a pilot shall have been actually received and all ships not having actually received the services of a pilot.
