[412] THE Committee who were appointed on the fourteenth of October Last past for auditing the Chamberlains Accounts and all other publick accounts of this Corporation made their Report on the Audit thereof, (in those words) to witt City of New York ss & which Report was Read and approved of by this Board and ORDER'D to be Entered and filed. [Report not entered.]

ORDER'D that alderman De Lancey Mr Deputy Mayor or alderman De Peyster Alderman Filkin Mr Herring Mr Lespinard M John Livingston and Mess's Abraham and William De Peyster or the Major part of them be a Committee to Enquire into the rights of this Corporation in the outward, & if Necessary to take to their assistance the City Surveyor AS ALSO to Lay out a Rhoad for Mr Albert Herring in said out ward, from the Post Rhoad through the Commons. to the wood Lott of the Said Albert Herring, and make Report thereof to this Board with all Convenient Speed

ORDERD that the Interest of Fifty Pounds fourteen. No (1282) shillings and Three pence be allowed and paid by this Board to Peter Brower from the 15th of Jan'ỵ 1754 till paid.

Mr William Walton Delivered in to this Board by Mr Deputy Mayor two Certificates of the Number of Days by him Served in Generall Assembly as one of the Representatives of this City one of which is

from the fifteenth Day of October 1754 to ye Seventh of December following and the other from the fourth of February 1755 to the Nineteenth of February thereafter amounting in the whole to Seventy Days which he Endorsed Gratis, and Declared the same to be Null and Void and all Certificates and Demands of the Like Service.

ORDER'D that the assize of Bread be till further order as followeth, wheat at 5/3 Bushell Viz!

THE Committee who were appointed on the Sixteenth Day of January Last to Enquire into the properest method for the Erecting and Establishing a ferry to and from this City to Staten Island, or to any other place and to make their Report thereof to this Board with all Convenient Speed, make their Report in these words to witt (City of New York ss) the Committee appointed the 16th Jany Last, to enquire into the properest method for Erecting & Establishing a Ferry to and from this City to Staten Island, Report that it is their opinion the best and properest method to Let and Establish said fferry, is to treat with those persons Living on Staten Island, who have a Grant from the Crown to Ferry from sd Island to this City, or any other persons who Incline to farm said fferry, all which is nevertheless Submitted to this Board by &c which Report was Read and approved of by this Board and ORDERD to be Entered and filed

ORDERD that Alderman De Lancey Alderman Cruger alderman Livingston Mr John Livingston and Mr Lespinard or the major part of them be a Committee to Treat with proper persons (such as the Committee Shall Think proper) for the Letting of the ferry to be Erected & Established to and from this City to Staten Island, or to any other place for a Term of Years Not Exceeding five and make Report thereof to this Board with all Convenient Speed

[414] ORDER'D that Mr Mayor Issue his warrant to the Treasurer of this City to pay to Mr Isaac Stoutenburgh or his order the Sum of sixteen pounds Ten Shillings In full of his Account for Smiths work Done to the City Hall, Poor House and ferry as his account Sworn to, audited and allowed of by this Board, Likewise the further Sum of Two pounds for his Trouble in having the City Hall Cleansed and for the advancement of his Money, Also the further Sum of Eighteen Pounds one Shilling and Seven pence for the Like Sum by him advanced and Laid out for materialls for the City Hall and also Three pounds to be by him Laid out for Lamp Oyle for the City Lamps which

Severall accounts in the whole and together amount unto Thirty Nine pounds Eleven Shillings and Seven pence

ORDERD that Samuel Bell of the said City Blacksmith & Davis Hunt of the same place Carpenter be and they are hereby appointed Engineers for the said City

ORDER'D that the Clerk of this Board prepare advertisements to be publickly Affixed up in the most publick places in this City. for Letting to farm the Stalls & Standings of the severall Markets of this City (to which Mr Mayor objected, Declaring he Conceived he had a Right to the proffits of the Same as Clerk thereof) and of the publick Wharfs and Slips of this City for the Term of one Year to Commence on the first day of May Next by publick Outcry at the Common Councill Chamber in the City Hall of the said City on Tuesday the Twenty Second Day of April Instant at Two oClock in the Afternoon of the Same Day to the Highest Bidder & that this Board or the Major part of them be a Committee for Letting the Same upon Such Conditions as they Shall Judge proper

[415] Mr Mayor produced to this Board the Releases of David Provoost, Cornelius Clopper, Mathias Earnest, and Elias De[s]brosses Inhabitants of the City of New York in behalf of themselves and the Rest

of the Inhabitants of the said City To the Mayor Aldermen and Commonalty of the Said City of the House Joining the alley Leading from Bayards Street to Mill Street, for the use of a Publick way or Street for Ever, for the Consideration of fifty Pounds to be paid to them, the first of November 1757; whereupon IT IS ORDER'D by this Board that the Said Releases with the Account of Disbursements be Recorded in the Books of City Grants, Remaining in the Office of [the] Town Clerk, and that Mr Mayor Execute a Bond to the said David Provoost and others for the Said fifty Pounds payable the first of November 1757 as aforesaid and that the Clerk of this Board prepare a Bond accordingly and Annex the City Seal thereto and Counter Sign the Same. ORDER'D that Mr Mayor Issue his warrant to the Treasurer of the said City to pay to Docter John Bard or his order forty Shillings, for his Trouble in Visiting Sundry Sick palatines in this City by order of the Justices

ORDERD by this Board, that John Christee the present Goaler of this City, allow each of those two french prisoners now in his Custody, a Shilling a Day untill further order, one of which was Committed by the Governour and Councill, and the other by the Mayor of the said City
