Excepting the Right privilidge and Advantage to the said Cornelius P Low his heirs and Assign's of the Dockage of one Vessel on the said South west side of the said Peer for and during and so Long as the Land under the water on that side shall Remain ungranted By the Corporation; But the Corporation Nevertheless to Be at full Liberty to Grant the Land under the Water on the Southwesterly side of the said Peer when ever they shall think proper at which time the privilidge, of the said Cornelius P Low his heirs and Assigns of the Dockage of one Vessel is to Expire and Cease

Upon which it was Resolved By this Board that they will Grant to the said Cornelius P Low the Soil under the water Two Hundred feet Into the River fronting his said Lott of Ground in the East Ward of this City upon the Yearly Quit Rent of Two Shillings per Foot to Commence at the Expiration of Twenty Years from the Twenty Fifth day of March next AND ALSO the Privilidge of Building a Peer on the Southwesterly side of the said Ground [259] Twenty five Feet wide and Two hundred feet in Length PROVIDED that the said Peer Be Built within five years from the Tenth day of December Last & that in Building the same a Vacancey of Forty feet Between the said Peer, and the Dock be Left for the Tides way which Vacancy is to be Covered with a Strong Bridge for Carriages &c: and that the said Cornelius P Low Leave Forty one feet at the End of the said Peer and Lott Abovementioned For a Street to be Opened when thereunto Required By this Corporation. AND ITS FURTHER AGREED By this Board That the said Cornelius P Low his heirs and Assigns shall have and Receive to his and their own use the Dockage that Shall Arise on the Southwesterly side of the said Peer for Twenty Years from the Twenty Fifth day of March next and no Longer PROVIDED the Soil under the water on the said Southwesterly side of the said Peer shall Remain so Long ungranted By this Corporation But this Corporation NEVERTHELESS To be at Liberty to Grant the said Soil under the water on the said Southwesterly side of the said Peer whenever they shall think proper. at which Time the privilidge of the Dockage of the said Cornelius P Low on that side to Cease and then the Dockage on that side from that time To Belong to the Corporation AND IT IS FURTHER ORDERED That the Clerk of this Board prepare and make out a Grant Accordingly.

ORDER'D That Mr Mayor Issue his Warrant to the TreasNo 1740 urer of this City to pay to Mess's Charles Williams and Thomas Jones Executors of Joseph Murray Esq' deceased the Sum of Sixty nine pounds Sixteen Shillings and Six pence in full of all Demands they have Against this Corporation as well for Prosecuting as Defending sundry suits for this Board By the said Joseph Murray as also in full of all other Services By him done for this Corporation

THE PETITION of Leonard Lispinard, Abraham Duryee and Sundry other persons owners and Proprietors of Lotts of Ground in Montgomerie ward and the Out ward of this City, fronting the East River, was preferred to this Board in Consequence of a Resolve made on a petition which they formerly offered to this Board, praying a Grant of the Water Lotts fronting their Severall Lotts of Ground in said. ward; which being Read and a Debate ariseing thereon whether the said Severall Water Lotts so prayed for, Sho'd be Exposed at publick [261] Vendue, or offered to the said petitioners at private sale, and the same being put to the Vote, it was Carried in favour of the Petitioners in manner following, Viz! Dirck Brinckerhoof, Thomas Wrandle, Ald Cornelius Roosevelt, Aldm Van Wyck, Aldm Brewerton, Ald Nicholas Roosevelt, Ald Hicks & Aldm Filkin, and those for Selling the said water Lotts at publick vendue were Rem Rapalje, Mathew Buyce, Garrit Rapalje, Abraham Lott, Peter Bivanck, Aldm Bogert & Mr Recorder, at which time Mr Mayor observed that during such time as he presided, the Recorder Could not as he Conceived be Legally Entituled to a Vote in this Common Councill; and a dispute thereupon arising it was ORDERD by this Board that his vote be taken in the present debate, but that the same Should not be Carried into president, so as to prevail in any other matters that shall or may hereafter be offered to this Board, until this Board are advised and be of opinion that by Law he has a vote, and this Board did thereupon further ORDER, that Aldm Bogert, Aldm Hicks, Aldm Van Wyck, Mr Byvanck, Mr Randell, Mr Garrit Rapalie & Mr Buyce, or the Major part of them, be a Committee to Cause a plan or Draft to be made of the Several Lotts so prayed for, observing at the same time that a Good and Sufficient Slip be Left for the use of the publick, and that they take to their assistance one of the City's Surveyors, and make Report thereof to this Board with all Convenient Speed.

IT'S ORDER'D By this Board that Alderman Hicks Do Retain William Smith Junt and John Morine Scott Esq's and take their Opinion

whether the Recorder has a Right by the Charter to this Corporation to Vote in Common Council During such time as the Mayor presides and Report their Opinion to the next Common Council

ITS ORDER'D By this Board that the Exchange House be Let to Thomas Jackson for one year from the first day of may next at the Rent of Sixty Pounds payable Quarterly to the Chamberlain of this Corporation

ORDER'D That the mayor Issue his warrant to the Treasurer of this City to pay to Mr Isaac Stoutenburgh or order the sum of Fifty three Pounds Two Shillings and Seven pence out of the Monies paid into his hands By the Church wardens of this City and Raised and Collected in Vertue of an Act of the Legislature of this province [262] Lately made and Published in full of his Account for monies By him Advanced and paid to the Lamp Lighters for one Quarters Lighting the City Lamps as per his said Account Audited By this Board and Allowed of

ORDER'D The Like to pay to Isaac Stoutenburgh or order, No 1742 the sum of Two Pounds, Seven Shillings, and Eight pence, in full of his Account for monies By him Advanced, and paid for Repairs done to the fly market, as p his said acc! Sworn to and allowed of by this Board.

ITS ORDER'D By this Board That the Treasurer or Chamberlain of this Corporation Do Receive from the Treasurer of this Colony, the sum of One hundred and Two pounds Being so much ORDER'D to be paid to the mayor Alderman and Commonalty of the City of New York (for money by them paid towards the Support of a Number of English Subjects who were sent here By the French from Newfoundland in the Year one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty two at the Time they Reduced that Island) in Vertue of an Act of the Governour Council and Generall assembly of this province made and passed the 20th of October 1764 and pass his Receipt for the Same (Copied for the Chamberlain)

THE REMONSTRANCE and Petition of sundry Freeholders freemen Merchants and Traders of this City was preferred to this Board and Read therein praying Leave to Extend Coenties peer Two hundred feet farther into the East River in Consideration of which they would Advance to this Corporation for Carrying on and Compleating the same the sum of one Thousand Pounds To be Repaid to such of the Petitioners as should so Advance the same in Five Years from the date hereof without Interest &c: &c: Likewise one other petition of Henry Holland, Jacob Remsen, and sundry others Owners and proprietors of Houses and Lotts of Ground Lying Between the said Coentees peer and the Street fronting the Dwelling house of Mr Moore for Leave to Fill up the Basons or Docks fronting their said houses and to Erect others Similar to and of the same Breadth from the Extent of the present ones or Else for Leave to Dock and Wharf out into the said River Two hundred Feet from from the Extent of the said present Basons under a Reasonable Quit Rent &c? Likewise one other Petition of Oliver De Lancey Esq and Sundry others for a Grant of the water Lotts fronting their Respective Ground from the Rear
