[86] ORDER'D that Mr Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer of this City to pay to Mr John Depeyster or his Order the sum of Twenty one pounds Nineteen Shillings and Seven pence half Penny in full of his Account for Money by him Advanced and paid for the use of the house on Bedlows Island and for his Commission at five his said Account Sworn to and Allowed of by this Board/

ORDERD the Like to Jacob Brewington or his Order the Sum of Seventy three pounds Ten Shillings and four pence half penny for the Like Sum distrained. Warrt Issued from him by the Collector of Kings County for the Government Tax and the further sum of Three pounds Eight Shillings and a penny for the Minister and poor Tax, and Likewise the further sum of Twenty five pounds nineteen Shillings and Seven pence for the Sum by him Advanced and paid for Repairing the Bridge at Nassau Ferry as pr his said Account sworn to and Allowed of by this Board/.

The Clerk of this Board produced the Draft of An Additionall Grant of Thirty feet into the East River in Montgomerie ward of this City to James Thompson which was Read and Approved off and ORDERED that the Same be forthwith Engrossed and the seal of this Corporation Affixed thereto and Delivered to the said James Thompson on his Executing a Counter part thereof.

[87] AND FURTHER ORDER'D that no Other Bread be made for Sale within this City then According to the Above Assize hard Bisquits only Excepted and that all Bakers within this City take notice thereof and make their Bread Accordingly.

The Rector and Inhabitants of the City of New York in Communion of the Church of England as by Law Established Preferred their Petition to this Board which was Read praying that this Corporation would be favourably pleased to Grant unto them their Successors and Assigns All the Land and Soil fronting their Land on Hudsons River from the North side of Division Street to the Ground Granted to the Governors of the College and from the North side thereof to the Stockadoes to Low water mark and the Soil Under the water from thence Two hundred feet into the said River upon such Reasonable Conditions as to this Corporation shall seem Meet Whereupon its ORDER'D by this Board that Alderman Livingston, Alderman Scott, Alderman Mesier & Messrs Abraham Depeyster and Nicholas Roosevelt or the major part of them be a Committee to Treat with the said Rector and Inhabitants Concerning the Granting the Prayer of their said Petition and make Report thereof to this Board with All Convenient Speed%

ORDERD that the Mayor Issue his warrant to the Treasurer of this City to pay to Docter John Bard or his order the sum of Sixteen pounds one Shilling in full of his account for Sundry Services done by order of the Justices in Visiting and providing medecines for Sundry poor persons in the Small pox &c: as pr his said acc! Audited by this Board and allowed of and Likewise the further Sum of five pounds for Sundry Extraordinary Services by him done at the Request of this Corporation and not in his said acc! Charged for

Mr Mayor Informed this Board that Mr Watts and Others had sent for a Large Clock which they intended as a publick one, and desired of him to propose to the Common Councill that if they would take Charge of it, and Erect it in the Exchange at their own Expence it was at their Service which this Board Agreed to and desired m mayor to Inform the said Mr Watts and the Other Gentlemen thereof,/

It is Agreed to, and ORDER'D by this Board that the several Publick measurers of this City do Observe for the future in the Measuring of Lime (to witt) that they Cause a Tub or measure to be made and Sealed that Contains three half Bushells heaped, which is to be the Common Standard and that the said measurers Do in their Measuring · take care and Govern themselves thereby Accordingly.

ORDER'D That the Clerk of this Board prepare Advertisements to be put in the publick or Weekly Gazettees for Letting to farm the stalls and Standings of the severall marketts of this City for one Year (to which Mr Mayor Objected, Declareing he conceived he had a right to the Proffitts of the same as Clerk thereof) and of the publick slips of this City for the Term of Three Years to Commence on the first day of May Next by publick Out Cry at the Common Councill Chamber in the City Hall of the said City on Tuesday the first day of Aprill next at Two oClock in the Afternoon of the same day to the highest Bidder and that this Board or the Major part of them be a Committee for Letting the same upon such Conditions as they shall Judge Proper/.

ORDER'D the Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer No 1487 of this City payable to himself for the sum of Ten pounds Seven Shillings for the Like sum by him Advanced and paid to David Provoost for Ninety Two Trammells for the Barracks/.

ORDER'D that the Mayor Issue his Warrant to pay to Johannes Myer Messenger and Doorkeeper to this Board or Order the sum of Three pounds Fifteen Shillings in full for one Quarters Sallary due unto him and Ending the Second day of this Instant march

THE COMMITTEE Appointed to Audit the Chamberlains Accounts made their Report on the Audit thereof in the words following Viz! We the Subscribers the Committee Appointed to Audit the Chamberlains Accounts find on Examining the Books that on the 14th day of October Last a Ballance was due to this Corporation of Five Thousand Eight hundred and Nine pounds Nine Shillings and four pence Including the Out Standing [89] Debts of which An Abstract is on the Other side, New York 5th March 1760. ORDER'D By this Board that the Clerk thereof prepare a Lease to Jacob Webbers for a Messuage a Dwelling House and four or five Acres of Land Lying and Being in the Out Ward near and Adjoining to the Lands of Mr Joseph Haynes for the Term of three Years at the

Yearly Rent of Forty Shillings and Deliver the same to the said Jacob Webbers on his Executing a Counterpart thereof.

ORDER'D That the Clerk of this Board prepare a Letter of Attorney from this Corporation to Johannis Myer to Receive the Possession of a house and Lott of Ground Lately Recovered from Baltus Van Kleek in the West Ward of this City, and Annex the seal of this Corporation. thereto%

ORDER'D That Alderman Livingston Alderman Bogart Alderman Scott Mess's Abraham Depeyster and Nicholas Roosevelt or the Major part of them be a Committee to Treat with the Executors of John Cruger Stephen Bayard and Edward Holland Esq's Deceased the Late Mayors of this City, as Also with the present Mayor Concerning the Monies Arisen by the stalls and standings during their respective Mayoraltys and that they Consider and settle the form of a plan for the Regulation of the fees Arising from the said Stalls and standings for the future and preferr the same to this Board with All Convenient Speed/

[90] Francis Marschalk one of the Citys Surveyors preferred a Survey to this Board of the Road Leading to Bloomandall Road which is in the words following Viz! At the Request of John Morine Scott Esq Chairman and Other Gentlemen of the Committee I have Surveyed the Road that Leads to Bloomandall Begining at the North East Corner of Sir Peter Warrens Land Runing from the Corner of said Land North Eleven Degrees and Forty five minutes, East Above Ten Chains, from thence North fourteen Degrees to the East side of a Large Split Rock in the Middle of the Road About One hundred Yards, to the north ward of Peter Van Ordens house dated the Twenty ninth of March one Thousand seven hundred and Sixty which Report was Read and Approved of by this Board with this Addition to be made that the Road there to be made be four Rodds wide and done at the Expence of this Corporation and then to be Repared and mended from Time to Time as Occasion shall Require by the Inhabitants of said Bloomandall Division/

The Stalls and Standings of the severall Marketts of this City were this day sold at publick Out Cry to Benjamin Payne of this City Shopkeeper for one Year, to Commence the first day of May next for the sum of Two hundred and Forty five pounds he Being the highest Bidder. ORDERED the Clerk prepare a Lease to the said Benjamin Vol. VI.-14
