No 1473 ORDERD the Like to Mr John Tiebout in full &c Warrt Issued for the Like Sum Due the Second of August Last

ORDER'D that the Alderman of the South Ward Cause a New Election for the Said Ward in the Room of Silvester Morris who is Returned a Collector for the Said Ward and is Neither a Freeman nor freeholder and that the Election be on Saturday Next at Eleven oclock in the forenoon/

THE COMMITTEE who were lately appointed to Regulate the Severall Streets in the West ward of this City, made their Report thereof to this Board in the Words following; City of New York ss: Wee the under written, being Lately appointed a Committee to Regulate the Severall Streets in the West ward of the Said City do in Obedience to the Said appointment Report that wee have Caused the following Regulation to be made (to witt) that there be a Descent from the Middle of the Broad Way to the End of Dye Street Twenty five feet the Whole Length thereof being Eight hundred and Thirty Four feet the first descent from the Middle of the Broadway to be Two Inches on every Fourteen feet on the Length of Four hundred Feet and the Second Descent from thence to five Inches and a half on every Ten Feet and that from the Middle of the Broad Way Opposite the Middle of

Said Dye Street there Must be a Rise of one Inch on every Ten feet Along the said Kennell one Inch on Every Ten feet till it comes to the middle of Cortlandt street, all which is Nevertheless Humbly submitted to this Board this fourth day of October 1759 By

Jacob Remson Boalter, William Cowlet Cooper and Edward Price Labourer admitted, and Thomas McDaniel Cooper, John Peterson Baker, Richard Ten Eyck Baker, John Brown Baker and Isaac Slover Cordwainer Sworn freemen of this Corporation and ORDERD to be Registred

THIS Day Mr Mayor being attended by Mr Recorder the aldermen and Assistants high Sheriff Town Clerk Corroner high Constable petty

Constables and Other Officers of this Corporation between the hours of Ten and Eleven of the Clock at the City Hall, went in their formalities from thence to the house of Edward Willet In the Said City and there Waited on the Honourable James De Lancey Esq Lieutenant Governour and Commander in Chief In and over the Province of New York and Territories depending thereon in America. The Oaths appointed by act of parliament to be Taken instead of the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy the Test and Abjuration Oath In the presence of and by order of his honour the said James De Lancey Esq Lieutenant Governour and Commander in Chief as aforesaid were then and there Administred unto John Cruger Esq' as Mayor Water Bailiff and Clerk of the Markets of this City of New York as also one of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the City and County of New York as also the usuall Oaths of Office of Mayor, water Bailiff and Clerk of the Markets of the City of New York and Justice of the peace in the presence of Severall members of this Court Whereupon the Mayor attended as Aforesaid Returned to the City Hall where after the Ringing of three Bells and Proclamation made for Silence the Commissions for mayor, Water Bailiff. and Clerk of the markets and the Commissions of high Sheriff and Coroner were published and then this Court Returned to the Common Councill Chamber where the said John Cruger Esq' was placed in the Chair, and then the said John Cruger Esq as Mayor of this Corporation Administred the Oaths. Aforesaid [70] Appointed by Act of Parliament instead of the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy the Test and Abjuration Oath and usuall Oaths for the due Execution of their Respective Offices unto the Respective Magistrates and Officers following (Viz)%

ORDER'D that the Assize of Bread be till further order Flower at 18/6 Pr C

of Do

[71] A White Loaf of the finest Flower to weigh.. 1 11°z for 4 Coppers Do to weigh.. 13 for 2 Do AND FURTHER ORDER'D that no Other Bread be made for sale within this City than According to the Above Assize (hard Bisquets only Excepted) and that all Bakers within this City take Notice thereof and make their Bread Accordingly.

ORDER'D that the Committee which was appointed on the Fourteenth of October Last for auditing the Chamberlains Accounts and All Other Publick Accounts of this Corporation be a Committee for Auditing the same the Ensuing Year/

Alderman Filkin, Reported that he had caused a New Election of a Collector for the South ward and that Silvester Morris was by the plurality of Voices or Votes Chosen Collector for the said Ward

ORDER'D that William Millinar be fined the sum of Five Shillings. for Refusing to be Sworn into the Office of Constable for the Ensuing

Year and it is further ORDERD that the Alderman of the dock ward Cause a new Election of a Constable in the Room of the said William Millinar and that the Election be to morrow Morning at Ten oClock/

ORDER'D that the Alderman of the South ward Cause a New Election of a Constable for the said ward in the Room place and Stead of Solomon Maritie who was Chosen Constable for the said ward and is Neither a freeman nor a freeholder and that the Election be to Morrow Morning at Ten oClock
