ORDER'D that Mr Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer of this City to Mr Isaac Stoutenburgh or his Order the Sum of Twenty one Pounds Twelve Shillings and Seven Pence in full of his Account for the Like Sum by him advanced and Laid Out in Repairing and Cleansing the City Hall Also the further Sum of Ten Pounds Three Shillings in full of One Other Account for Sundry Services done for the use of this Corporation as Pr Said Two Accounts Sworn to and allowed [63] Of by this Board and also the further Sum of Twenty five Pounds for advance Money for purchaseing of Fire Wood for the use of this Corporation/.

MR MAYOR Produced to this Board a List of the Names of Sundry persons Who had Taken out Lycences for Retailing of Strong Liquors Within this City from the Twenty Fifth of March one Thousand Seven hundred & Fifty Nine to the Twenty Fifth of March one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty amounting to the Number of Two hundred and Thirty Two persons and Who Together had paid for the Same the

Sum of Three hundred and Fifty Three Pounds Fifteen Shillings Current Money of this Colony, ORDER'D that he pay the Same to The Treasurer or Chamberlain of this City Retaining First thereout in his hands the Sum of Four Shillings and paying thereout to the Clerk five Shillings for every Lycence so by him Granted during the Time therein mentioned, and Likewise that he Retain in his hands the further Sum of Two Pounds Seventeen Shillings and Nine pence Being What he paid for the Stamps of the Severall Lycences/.

ORDER'D that Mr Mayor Issue his Warrant To the Treasurer of this City to pay to Mr Israel Desosway or his Order the Sum of Two hundred and Sixty Two pounds One Shilling and Three pence in full of his Account for Building a New Dock at the Out side of the Great dock as Pr his Said Account allowed of by this Board/

WHEREAS in and by an Act of the Lieutenant Governour the Councill and Generall assembly of this province of New York Entituled an act for Removing the prisoners from the City Hall of the City of New York to the New Goal Built by the Mayor Aldermen and Commonalty of the Said City and for appropriating Certain parts thereof to the uses and purposes of a Common Goal for the City and County of New York Lately made and Published It is among Other things Enacted that from and after the Time therein after Limited for the Removell of Prisoners; the Sheriff of the City and County of New York Shall not at any Time Confine or keep any prisoner or prisoners in the City Hall of the City of New York nor Occupy the Same for any Other Purpose or purposes Whatsoever and from thence forth the Two Celler Rooms under the West Side and Towards the Rear of the Said house Lately Built by the Mayor Aldermen and Commonalty of the Said City, the Three Rooms or appartments in The West Side of the Same house in the Middle Story and the Six Rooms in The Third Story in the Said house Shall be the Goal and Goals of and for the Said City and County of New York and that the Sheriff of the Said City and County for the Time Being Shall have the keeping of the Same. [64] AND WHEREAS it is in and by the Said Act further directed that the aforesaid Sheriff of the City and County Shall Remove all his prisoners from the City hall of the Said City to the Said Goal or Goals provided by the aforesaid act when and as Soon as the Said Mayor Aldermen and Commonalty by order of their Board and a Coppy thereof to be Served on him Shall direct AND WHEREAS the

Said Mayor Aldermen And Commonalty of the Said City being in Common Councill Convened at the City Hall of the Said City Conceive It Necessary that Such prisoners as are now in the Said City Hall and in Custody of the Said Sheriff be Accordingly Removed to the Said Goal or Goals provided by the Said Act It is thereupon ORDER'D by this Board that the Sheriff of the Said City and County of New York do on or Before the First day of October Next Remove or Cause to be Removed all Such prisoners as Shall be then in his Custody in the Said City Hall to the aforesaid New Goal provided in and by the Said Act AND IT IS FURTHER ORDER'D for that purpose that the Clerk of this Board do Serve the Said Sheriff with a Coppy of this order.

CONFORMABLE to his Majesty's Royal Charter Granted to the Mayor Aldermen and Commonalty of the City of New York for Electing this day One Alderman one Assistant Two Assessors one Collector and Two Constables in the Six Wards on the South Side of Fresh

Water and one Alderman one assistant and four Assessors Two Collectors [65] And Four Constables for the Out Ward of the Said City to Serve in the Respective Offices for the Year Ensuing, the Respective Aldermen of Each Respective Ward made Return this Day into the Office of Town Clerk under their hands for the Several Persons to serve in the Several Offices aforesaid. THE HONOURABLE JAMES DE LANCEY Esq' Lieutenant Governour and Commander in Chief in and over the Province of New York and Territories depending thereon in America by and with the advice and Consent of his Majestys Councill was pleased to appoint the following persons Officers for the Year Ensuing for the City and County of New York (to witt) John Cruger Esq1 Mayor Water Bailiff and Clerk of the Markets, John Roberts Esq to be high Sheriff and John Burnet Esq to be Coroner.

[67] RESOLVED (Nemine Contradicente) that Isaac Depeyster Esq' the present Treasurer or Chamberlain of this Corporation be and he is hereby Elected and appointed Treasurer or Chamberlain of this Corporation for the Year Ensueing he Giveing Such Security as the Charter directs/.

RESOLVED and ORDER'D that Thomas Pettit be appointed and he is hereby Accordingly appointed high Constable for the City and County of New York for the Year Ensueing or untill Some Other fit person be appointed and Sworn in his Room/
