from the said John Depeyster Jun' which was Likewise Read and is in the Words following (Viz!) New York December the Seventeenth one Thousand Seven hundred and fifty seven Received of Mr Leonard Lespinard the sum of one Thousand pounds, said sum Received at Sundry Diffirent times for the use of the New Barracks. John De Peyster Jun ORDERD by this Board the said Receipt be filed with the Clerk thereof.

The Clerk produced to this Board the Draft of a Grant to Oliver De Lancey Esq' in trust for the Children of the Late Sr Peter Warren for a water Lott in the North River which was Read and thereupon ORDERD that Mr Recorder Alderman Lespinard & Alderman Scott be a Committee to Conferr with Mr De Lancey Concerning the Granting of said Lott and make Report thereof to this Board with all Convenient speed%

ORDER'D that Johannis Myer messenger and Door Keeper to this Board be allowed the sum of Six pounds for Extraordinary Services of the Last Year by him done for this Corporation/

Alderman Scott produced to this Board an assignment from this Corporation & Joseph Causeton to John Chambers Esqrs of a Bond and Mortgage from said Joseph Causeton to Alderman Depeyster William Livingston and Benjamin Nicoll of the City of New York Esq (three) of the Trustees for Setting at Interest the sum of Three Thousand four hundred and forty Three pounds Eighteen Shillings appointed by an act of the Governour Councill and Generall assembly of the province of New York Intitled an act for Vesting in Trustees the sum of Three Thousand four hundred and forty Three pounds. Eighteen shillings Raised by way of Lottery for Erecting a Colledge within this Colony, which said Bond and mortgage upon a Division. made by and between this Corporation and the Governours of the Colledge pursuant to an act of assembly for that purpose, fell and was allotted among other Bonds and mortgages to the share of this Corporation, the principall and Interest of which said Mortgage amounts to six hundred and sixty pounds Thirteen shillings the same being. Read and [10] approved of by this Board and ORDERD that the seal of this Corporation be affixed thereto and that the same be Signed by Mr Mayor and Counter Signed by the Clerk of this Board and Delivered to the said John Chambers with the Bond mortgage and Title Deeds Relating thereto, on his paying the principall and Interest of

the said Bond & mortgage abovementioned to the said Alderman. Scott/

ORDER'D that Mr Mayor Issue his warrant to the Treasurer of this City to pay to Davis Hunt or his order the sum of Nine pounds nineteen shillings and seven pence half penny in full of his account for work done for this Corporation In Repairing some of the Fire Engines as p' his said account, sworn to and allowed of by this Board/

ORDER'D that the Clerk of this Board prepare a Bond from this Corporation to Abraham Lefferts of this City of New York Merchant

and affix the seal of the Corporation Thereto in the penalty of six hundred pounds Current money of New York with Condition to pay the sum of Three hundred pounds Like money on or before the Twelfth day of January [11] next with Interest at five pr Cent p1 annum, and that the same be Signed by Mr Mayor and Counter signed by the Clerk of this Board

ORDER'D the Like to Philip Livingston Esq' in the penalty of four hundred pounds Conditioned for the payment of two hundred pounds on or before the Twelfth day of January with Interest at five p Cent from the date hereof and that the same be also Signed by the mayor and Counter signed by the Clerk hereof.

ORDER'D that the Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer of this City to pay to John Bogart Jun1 Esq or order the sum of Three pounds nine shillings and nine pence in full for the Like sum by him advanced and paid for the use of this Corporation in Repairing the highway near Thomas Montanies/

ORDER'D that Mr Van Rants have Liberty to send a fire Engine with a Number of Buckets not Exceeding fifty to the work house of this City there to be Left for the more Ready Extinguishing any fire that may happen to the New Barracks/

Jacob Brewington the present Lessee of Nassau ferry belonging to this Corporation, appeared before this Board and made Severall proposalls Concerning the Takeing a new Lease from this Corporation of the said Ferry and Ferry house, and at the same time proposed Mess's David provoost and Lewis Morris Jun' Sureties for Performing the Covenants in the Lease on his part to be Executed, which proposalls were Accepted of by this Board, and agreed to; and Thereupon its ORDERD, by this Board, that the same be Let to the said Jacob Brewington for the term of five Years, to Commence from the first day of May next, by two severall Leases, under the annual Rent of six hundred and fifty pounds, (to witt) the ferry under the annual Rent of five hundred and seventy pounds, and the fferry house under the annual Rent of Eighty pounds the same to be paid Quarterly to the Treasurer or Chamberlain of this City; and its further agreed to, by and between this Board, and the said Jacob Brewington, that in Case this Corporation sho'd be Inclined to Remove and carry away the old house, which

stands behind the New ferry house, they have Liberty to Remove the same at the End of any Year During the Continuance of said Lease, to the said Jacob Brewington/.

ORDER'D that Alderman Lespinard Alderman Coventry Messrs Nicholas Roosevelt and Joris Jansen or any three of them be a Committee to sash the assembly Chamber in the City Hall and make such other necessary ornamentall Reparation to the said Chamber as they shall Judge proper%

ORDER'D that Mr Recorder Alderman Bogart alderman Lespinard and Mess Luke Van Rants and Garret Van Horne or the major part of them be a Committee to Cause to be made one hundred fire Bucketts in such manner as they shall Judge most proper at the Expence of this Corporation/

ORDER'D that Mr Recorder Issue his warrant to the Treasurer of this City to pay to Mr Isaac Stoutenburgh or his order the sum of Twenty four pounds nine shillings and three pence in full of his account for sundry sums by him advanced and Laid out and for

work by him done for this Corporation and also that the further sum of Three pounds be allowed him to purchase oil for the City Lamps for the Ensueing Year/

ORDER'D that alderman Livingston and alderman Lespinard Do Immediately wait upon Archibald Kennedy Esq and purchase of him for this Corporation the Island Commonly Called Bedlows Island for any sum not Exceeding one Thousand pounds in order to Erect thereon a pest House and make Report thereof to this Board how and in what manner they have Treated with him for the same.

Aldermen Livingston and Lespinard who were above appointed to purchase of Archibald Kennedy Esq the Island Commonly Called Bedlows Island for the Erecting thereon a pest House, Reported that they have accordingly waited of [on] the said Archibald Kennedy, and have agreed to Give him for the said Island the sum of one Thousand pounds by two payments (Viz!) five hundred pounds on the first day of May next and the Remaining five hundred pounds on the first day of May one Thousand seven hundred and fifty nine and further ORDERD that the Clerk prepare two Bonds from this Corporation to the said Archibald Kennedy for the same and affix the seal of this
