Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurer in favour of Luykas Hooghkerk & his son for three Skipple of wheat each. At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Wednesday the 22d day of April, 1772.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the City Chaimberlain in favour of Killyan Winne for £6:17:9.

Resolved by this Board that the watchmen be paid to the eight day of April.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurer in favour of John Wilkeson for 10s.

An Ordinance regulating the City Night watch is renewed this day.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on Friday the 1st of May, 1772.

Resolved by this Board that the City Chaimberlain put in the hands of the Atty of this City the several ace, dues and demands of the Corporation in order that the same may be immediately prosecuted.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk make a Return of the names of the Mayor, Recorder and Aldermen of this City and send the same to Mr. Banyar the Province Secretary at New York.

Resolved by this Board that Gar Van Sants actt of £13:15:10, be allowed.

Bastian Tymense appeared before this Board and affirmed on Oath that he was totally ignorant of the Clause in the Deed of his wifes Grand Father Isaac Ouderkerk, whereby he or his heirs or assigns were agreed with this Board to give the Refusal of the sale of those Lands granted by the said Deed to this Board, and it also appeared that he had sold those Lands without giving this Board the offer of said Lands, and the Board having enterd into the Composition with him for the Breach of said agreement have accepted from him a Note for £3:4, payable January next.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the City Chaimberlain in favour of Michael Waggoner for £1:8.

Resolved by this Board that an Ordinance was published the 15 day of April last for Beef, Mutton and Lamb, continue the prices from this day untill the nineteenth day of June, 1772.

Resolved by this Board that John Davis remove his Barn that stands to the south of his house within one month from this date.

Resolved by this Board that Sybrant V. Shaick remove his fence out of the street on the Gallows Hill within one month from this date.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurer in favour of Jacob F. Lansingh for £5 for a Bull.

A Petition being presented to this Board for making a Road leading from the City of Albany through Stephen Town, Pittsfield & Lansburgh. At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Thursday the 2d July, 1772.

Resolved by this Board that the City Chaimberlain sell two hundred Skipple of wheat at five shillings and six pence Skipple, and no more than three Skiple to one person.

Resolved by this Mess Piter Silvester, Rob Yates and Jeremiah Van Renselaer be a Committe to draw an Address to his Excellency on his arrivel.

Resolved by this Board that his Excellency William Tryon be presented with the freedom of this City in a Golden Box.

Also Resolved that this Board do address his Excellency on his arrival to this City.

At a Common Council held for City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Monday the 3d August, 1772.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the City Chaimberlain in favour of Richard Cartwright for £18:4:6.

Resolved that Mess Ald A. Yates, Rob' Yates & Jeremiah Van Renselaer or any two of them be a Committe to draw up a state of the Corporation Claim to the lands in the Mohawks Country and that they may have recourse to any papers or vouchers remaining with the Clerk or Chaimberlain of this Corporation for that purpose to be occasionally to be made use of or laid before his Excellency to answer the complaint brought before him ag the Corporation by the Mohawks.

Resolved by this Board that Bastian Visscher leave of making the road any longer from the City Gate to the Sand bergh and that he bring in his acc' for one years wages and that it be allowed.

Resolved by this Board that upon Mr. Yates producing a rough Draft of the state of the case reletive to the Corporations Claim to a seat in the Court of Oyer & Terminer that we cause the same to be copied and sent down for revisal of the Attornies concerned for this Board in New York,

and that he also may retain any one Attorney out of this Province for his Opinion on the said case, and for the last purpose that he draw on the Treasury for any sum not exceding thirty pounds, and that for the disposition thereof he be accountable to this Board.

A Petition being presented to this Board in favour of John James Abbott, praying for a Lott of Ground in the Foxes Creek as is most convenient, which this Board grants.

Resolved by this Board that John Flansburgh buy two loads of Hay for the City Bulls and charge the same to the Corporation.

Resolved by this Board that Jeremiah V. Renselaer and Gysbert Marselis be a Committe to lay out a Percell of Lots of Ground in the Foxes Creek belonging to this Corporation.

Resolved by this Board that the City Chaimberlain sell the weat that yet remains unsold at 5s. Skipple, or that the same be sent down.

Two bags of wheat for Thomas Seeger and charge the same to his acc'.

Resolved by this Board that the Lots laid out in the Foxes Creek be sold at Publick Vandue on Saturday the third Day of October next at ten o'clock & that the Clerk draw Advertizements & that the same be put up. This being day appointed by Charter for qualifying the yearly officers, viz :

Abraham C. Cuyler, Esq, produced a Commission appointing him Mayor of the City and Clerk of the Market and Coroner for the City & County of Albany and was sworn in the due execution of his office.

Henry Ten Eyck, Esq, produced a Commission appointing him High Sheriff for the City & County of Albany & was sworn in the due execution of his office.

Whereas this Board have this day at the request of Mr. Anthony Van Schaick taken into consideration an order of the Governor & Council made the first July last respecting a Petition of Abm Ja. Lansing for a grant for about 40 feet in Hudsons River from the waters Edge the length of his land on said River. Whereupon it is considered by this Board that such grant will clash with the Interest of this City and the Publick and by obstructing the natural Channel of the River and the Business of Rafting of Wood and Timber down said River.

Resolved by this Board that Messrs Van Schelluyne and Roseboom be a Committe to settle accts with Mr. Bain respecting the Powder lodged in the Powder House, that his Legle charges for the same is taken from his acc1, £3:11.

That this Board in consideration of Mr. Bains extraordinary attendence in airing the Powder, &ca, be allowed a sum including the above of £5. At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Monday the 2d day of November, 1772.

Mr. Gerrit Van Sante, Jun', having this day app1 as one of the Aldermen returned the 29th of Sept last for the first ward of this City, and he having taken and subscribed the Oath of Allegence and Supremecy, and also his Oath of office, he is admitted to take his seat accordingly.

It is Resolved by this Board that the several watch men of this City be paid their wages to them respectively due to the eight day of October last and that the Chaimberlain of this Board do pay them accordingly.

William Stansbury one of the Constables elected for the second ward this day appeared and was sworn in that office.

It is also resolved that Thomas Seeger the late City Marshall be allowed for his last years wages the sum of £15, and that the City Chaimberlain pay him the remainder of such Ballance as is due to him.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the City Chaimberlain in favour of Isaac Fonda additional to the former allowance of his acc' the sum of £1:15.

Resolved by this Board that John Redtliff be paid for his last years wages and that the City Chaimberlain pay him the remainder of such Ballance as is due to him.

Michael Wagoner being Quallified on his Oath, ordered that his account be allowed of £8:19:7 to this date.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Friday the 29th Nov, 1772.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the City Chaimberlain in favour of John Roorbach for £16:1:4 and that the former order be barred.

It is Resolved that John Flansburgh light the Lamps and that he be be allowed twenty-five shillings

moth.
