Resolved by this Board that the Treasurar give notice to all persons that are indebted to this Corporation to come and settle with him by given a Bond with Security or paying their Debts on or before the 30 Ins', or else he is hereby ordered to give the Accts into the hands of all the Atty's of this City equal to be recovered by them in behalf of this Corporation. Resolved by this Board that Clerk draw orders on the Treasurar in favour of John Boone for keeping Benjamin Gable the publick whipper 25 weeks at seven shillings a week,

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Fryday the 29th day of September, 1769.

This being the day appointed by Charter for electing of Aldermen, Comon Council and Constables, &c, the following is the order in which they where elected and returned, viz:

First Ward-Peter Lansingh & John Roreback, Aldermen; John Williams & Jacob Roseboom, Assistants; Peter Hilton & John Wilkerson, Constables.

Second Ward-John R. Bleecker & Abraham C. Cuyler, Aldermen John N. Bleecker & Gysbert G. Marselis, Assistants; Dirick Schuyler & William Reegle, Constables.

Third Ward-Abraham Yates, Jur, & Abram Ten Broock, Alderman; John Ten Broock & John G. Lansingh, Assistants; Benj" Hansen & Jacob Fonda, Constables.

Henry Bleecker is appointed Chaimberlan for the ensueing year.
Thomas Seeger is appointed Marshel for the ensueing year.
Jacobus Fonda is appointed High Constable for the year ensueing.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Saturday the 14th day of Oct, 1769.

This being the day appointed by Charter for qualifying the yearly officers, viz:

Volkert P. Douw, Esqr, produced a Comission appointing Mayor of the City of Albany & Clarke of the Market and Coroner of the City and County of Albany, and was sworn in the due execution of his office.

Harmanus Schuyler, Esq, produced a Commission appointing him high Sheriff the City and County of Albany and was sworn in the due execution of his office.

Jacob Roseboom & John Williams, Assistants for do.

John Wilkerson & Peter W. Hilton, Constables for do.

Beekman for Also an order to be drawn in favour of Abraham Yates, Jun', Esq', for the sum of eighty pounds New York currency, being for moneys advanced by Alderman Yates for this Board and paid to Comfort Seevers for part of payment for making the addition to the middle dock according to an agreement made between him and this Board the 16th of March last.

Resolved by this Board that the Clark draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of Henry Bleecker for ten pounds New York currency, being advanced & paid by him to Amos Hammer & James Lombis for making the road from Lansingborough to this City.

Mr. Abraham Douw produced an order drawn by Comfort Seevers on this Board for the sum thirty pounds to be paid to Mr. Douw.

Resolved by this Board that an order be drawn on the Treasurar in favour of Mr. Douw for the sum of thirty pounds & charge the same to the account of Comfort Seevers.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk send an order to Bastian Vischer for to make the road leading from this City to the Sand bergh according to an agreement made with him.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Fryday the 3d November, 1769.

Abraham Yates, Jun, Esq', being sworn and qualifyed as Alderman for the City of Albany one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the City & County of Albany.

John Ten Broock sworn and qualifyed as one of the Common Council for this City.

This Board appoints the undermented persons as Fire Masters for the year ensueing:

Baltus Van Benthuysen & Augustus Bostwick for the first ward.

Comfort Severs & Jacob Pruyn for the second ward.

Dirick Ten Broock & Volkert A. Douw for the third ward.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of Nanning Vischer for £31:10:8.

Resolved by this Board that the undermentioned Ordinance be entred on the Minutes of Comon Council:

Be it ordained by the Worshipful Mayor, Recorder, Aldermen and Assistants of this City of Albany in Common Council this day convened, and be it ordained by the authority aforesaid, that the range of the Street running to the River between the Houses of S William Johnson and the House of Gerrit Van Sante, Jun', the south side of the said Street shall range from the north west corner of said Gerrit Van Santes now dwelling by the Cow street with a strieght line to the north west corner of the dwelling house of Wessel Van Schaick and so on the same range to low water mark on the River side, being a course south seventy-four degrees and thirty minutes east, and that the Street lying to the east of said Wessel Van Schaick now dwelling is to be in breadth from the north east corner of his said dwelling house twenty-eight feet Rynland measure on the above course of south seventy-four Degrees east, and the like breadth by the house formerly belonging to Ryer Gerritse wherein William Pemberton now lives, and so with a straight line from the east end of the said twenty-eight feet opposite the north east corner of said Van Schaick dwelling house to the east end of the twenty-eight feet opposite the said house where William Pemberton now lives in and to continue same range to the Street that runs to the River of the north of John the fifths Lansings dwelling house.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Monday the 27th November, 1769.

Resolved by this Board that the well made by the neighbours living on Frans bergh be fenished with all that is to be done to it, and also that a pump be made in said well which this Board agrees to pay for.

The Ordinance renewed for all kinds of meat brought for sail within the limits of this City and to be in force from this date to the 25 January, 1770, viz every b of Mutten, Veal or Beef at 41.

The Ordinance renewed for unruely riding from this date to be in force to the 27th Nov, 1770.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of Comfort Seevers for £308:19:9 New York currency, being for making the addition to the middle dock and making the middle dock one foot higher and making the upper dock also one foot higher; first you are to deduct the several payments already made by you in behalf of the Corporation, viz, the Order drawn by Comfort Seevers on this Board for the sum of thirty pounds, and also let him discharge the mortgage which you have taken in behalf of this Board, and also all such orders & money pay by you in behalf of this Board.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Monday the 11th day of December, 1769.

Resolved by this Board that Paul Hoghstroser pay unto James Bloodgood the sum of £25 New York currency, being for timber which said Paul Hoghstroser bought of the Corporation and that Bloodgoods receipt be his sufficient discharge.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Saturday the 16th December, 1769.

Resolved by this Board that the following Letter be sent to the Members of the General Assembly of the City and County of Albany, now at New York :

Gen-We enclose you the Petition of the Schoharry Inhabitants, which you will find is signed by the whole except only about six; they have shewn in general a great fondness to remain in our County. You have also enclosed the City Petition with To the Northward as far as Sarachtoga on the West side of the River, including Schatacook; we have not altered the Petition so as to agree with the act published in the papers of the last Session of the Gen Assembly because we think that the going from Aries Kill to the Head of the Delaware will not enclude all Schoharry and therefore we would chuse that the act should be altered so as to extend from Aries Creek or kill south thirty degrees west; we shall send you by the next post the Petition from Albany to the west Camp which is not yet come to hand. We have ordered the Express to keep his message secred untill he comes to you and then to receive your further orders.

Resolved that the Clerk of this Corporation sign the same in behalf of this Board.

This Board agreed with Henry Van Vechten for to go down to New York with the above Letter for which he is to have ten pounds New York currency.

This Board wants twenty-one Sober persons to keep the City night watch. Resolved by this Board that an Advertisement be put that this Board wants twenty-one Sober persons to keep the City night watch and that they give their names to the Aldermen or Assistants of each ward on or before next Saturday who have a mind to serve as watchman.

A Petition of the Inhabitants of New Labanen being presented to the Board, which was read requesting this Board to make some provision for their assistance in making the Roads and Bridges from New Labanan to this City, which this Board took time to consider thereon. Resolved by this Board that Robert Bulless & Moses Jones be served with a Copy hereof.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Tuesday the 6th January, 1770.

This Board agreed with Joseph I. Yates to be the Overseer of the City night watch, for which this Board agrees to pay him two shillings a night. This Board agreed with the following persons to keep the City night watch for one shilling and six pence to every person who shall watch under the directions of Joseph I. Yates:

Joseph Hagerman, James Miller, John Wilkerson, Jonathan Brook, Ju', James Smith, John Forster, John Armstrong, Thomas Hilton, Albartus Bloomendal, Philip Young, Patrick McGrigor, Robert Bruse, Richard Hickson, James Dunneway, Nicholas Druly, John Burges, John Flensburg, Peter Marshel, Obediah Van Benthuysen, James Green, Henry Beesly.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerke draw orders on the Treasurar in favour of Wilhelmus Van Antwerpen for £1:18.

One Do in favour of Philip Ryley for attending the Town Clock one year, £6.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Fryday the 26th January, 1770.

Resolved by this Board that a Warrent do issue to the Assessors of the City of Albany to rate and tax all and every the Freeholders, Freemen, Inhabitants, Residents and Sojourners living within a half mile from the river living in the said City for £250 for to defray the Expenses of a night watch in this City.

Resolved that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of Thomas Seeger for one Beg of wheat or 3 Schipple and charge the same to his Acc1.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Fryday the 9th of February, 1770.

The Assessors of the City of Albany delivered to the Board an exact list of the rates and tax laid on the Freeholders, Freemen, Inhabitants, Residents and Sojourners in the City of Albany living within a half mile from Hudsons River to defray the Expences of a City night watch.

Resolved by this Board that a Warrent do issue to the Collectors of the City of Albany for to collect the tax rated according to the Tax list delivered in to the Comon Council by the Assessors.
