sign the following Deeds, viz: one to Peter Binneway for one hundred and eighty-seven acres of wood land adjoining the line of Saratoga Pattent, as also one Samuel Stringer for a Lott of Ground on the Hill near the Fort adjoining the English Burying Place.

This day Dirk Bratt Van Schoenhoven, John Fryer and Nanning Visher were sworn and qualified as Common Council.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Tuesday the 28th day of October, 1766.

Resolved by this Board that ye Bridge behind Simon Veeders be made farther to the Eastward and that the rising ground lying behind the Lott of Lendert Gansevoorts, dec, & Lansings be levelled and thrown in a fence or Stock adoes to be made from the dock to the said Bridge in such a manner as Messrs Bleecker & Lansing, Aldermen, & Lansing & Visher, Assistants, being the Committee for the said dock, shall think proper.

Ordered by this Board that there be allowed unto the widow of Jacobus Radliff, decd, the sum of five pounds for ringing the Bell the last year. This Board agreed with John Radtliff to ring the Bell from the 23d of October, 1766, until the 23d Oct following for £5 a year.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurer in favour of Cornelus Muller for seventy load of wood for the City watch at five shillings and three pence load comes to £18:7:3.

Resolved that the Recorder, Alderman Peter Lansing and Mr. Gerrardus Lansing be a Committe to examine the Accounts owing by the Corporation to the different people.

Resolved that those born in the City of Albany shall have their freedoms each paying two shillings six pence, six pence for drawing, one shilling for the Seal, one shilling for the Mayor or any three Aldermen for executing the same.

Resolved by this Board that the Mayor execute a deed to Philip Ryley for twenty-one years on Condition that the deed be void on the Tender of one shilling to the Lessee for a Tract of land scituate lying & being to the South of the City of Albany on the North of Beaver Kill, bounded on the South by the said Beaver Kill, on the East by Hudsons River, on the North by the several Pastures or Lotts belonging to Claas Van Den Bergh, Jacob Ten Eyck, John Griffiths, Marte Beekman, Gerrit Lansing, Harme & Tunis Visher and Cornelius Van Scherlyne, and on the West by the Ground now in possession of Philip Schuyler, Cap Cortlandt Schuyler & Thomas Wilkison.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Monday the 5th day of January, 1767.

Resolved that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurer in favour of Thomas Seeger for nine pounds for the last years service, and also four pounds for extraordinary trouble for the last year.

And also an order on the Treasurer in favour of Philip Ryley for six pounds for the last year for attending the Town Clock.

This Board agreed with Benj" Gable for to be their Publick Whipper, to commence from the 1st day of December 1766, to the first of December 1767, for twenty pounds a year, to be paid Quarterly.

Resolved by this Board that the Mayor sign a freedom to Step" De Lancey and cause the City Seal to be thereunto affixed.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Monday the 19th day of January, 1767.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of John J. Beekman for twenty-two pounds ten shillings.

And one in favour of Naning Visher for four pounds eighteen shil: & four pence.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Monday the 2d day of February, 1767.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of John McIntyre for nineteen pounds eighteen shillings for masons work at the new Barricks which is to be paid unto Henry I. Bogert.

Resolved by this Board that the four Lots of Ground lately laid out by Naning Visher behind the house and lot of Barentie Spoor & to the south of the Presbytering House be sold at Publick Vendue to morrow morning at ten oclock to the highest bidder, being in breath each lot forty-one feet and in length one hundred and twenty-nine feet.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the the said City on Monday the 9th day of February, 1767.

Resolved by this Board that the Mayor sign a Deed to John Ostrander for a Lott of Ground on the Hill, it being N. 9 sold to him at Publick Vendue for one hundred and five pounds, being in length on both sides one hundred and forty-two feet.

Also that the Mayor sign the Deeds to the following persons, viz: One to William Waldrom for Lot No. 1 & 2; one Do. to Jonathan Brooks for Lot No. 3; and Do. to Thomas Hilton for Lot No. 4, being sold unto them at Publick Vendue according to a resolve made the 2d day Feb'y Inst.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Saturday the 14th March, 1767.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of Dirck Ten Broeck for eleven pounds eight shillings & farthing for necessaries provided for said Corporation at Kings Birth day.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurer in favour of William Waldron for twenty-two pounds twelve shillings and three pence for masons work done at the Creek in the 3d ward where the Market House is on.

This Board seteled with Claes Speeck for keeping Benj" Gable the Publick Whipper fifteen weeks for three pound, it being for rent due by said Claas Speeck to the Corporation for the Ground where his house is on.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of Tho Seeger for six Schipple of wheat at what prise the other is sold for, & also Do. for John Redtliff for three Schipple at the like as the other.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Thursday the 26th day of March, 1767.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of Stephen Van Schaack and Compy for £105, being in part payment for building the warf down at the City Hall.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurar in favour of Asa Phelps for £6:6:1, being the ballance of his Account. An Ordinance was this day published for regulating the lying of Vessels in the four several Docks of this City.

This day was setteled with Barnardus Bratt in full of all Accounts with the Ferry until the first day of April next.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Tuesday the 28th day of March, 1767.

This day where sold at Publick Vendue to Messrs Gysbert Merselis and John Van Alen the Hire of the several Docks of this City untill the first day of January next for the consideration of seventy pounds current money of New York, to be paid at or before the first day of January 1768. Provided that if any of the 28 Sloops belonging to this City should refuse and not come to either of the said Docks and so be free from paying Dockage that such and so many Sloops in such case shall be deducted out of the said £70 at the rate of one shilling a Tun.

This day was sold unto Dirick Hansen the Ferry leading from the City

of Albany to Green Bush for twenty-two pounds N. York currency for one year to begin from the 4th April 1767 to the 4th day of April 1768.

And also an Ordinance was this day published to regulate the Ferry between the limits of this City and Green Bush.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Tuesday the 21st day of April, 1767.

The Mayor produced a Rec' of James Bloodgood for £100 which he received of Cap Cortland Schuyler, being the last payment which was due by said Cap Schuyler to the Corporation for Ground sold by the Corporation to said Schuyler on the Gallows Hill. Ordered that Recp' be lodged in the Treasurars hands.

Whereas, lately a fire broke out in the manor of Rensselaerwyck and found it very unconvenient for want of Buckets, it is therefore resolved that all persons who bring their Buckets to the place where a fire should happen to break out and any of them get broke, burnt or lost in the fire shall be paid by the Corporation,

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Wednesday the 22d day of April, 1767.

Resolved by this Board that there be sold at Publick Vendue on Saturday the second day of May next a Lot of Ground lying in this City to the south of the House & Lot of Ground of Alderman Jacob Van Schaick, being in front thirty-one feet and in rear eighteen feet and in length on both sides sixty feet, all English measure,

Resolved by this Board that the Treasurar make James Bloodgood Dr. for one hundred N. York currency which was paid by the Mayor to said Bloodgood for building the Barricks on the Hill back of the fort.

Resolved by this Board that the Treasurer give Cap' Cortland Schuyler credit for one hundred pound New York currency, being the last payment which was due by said Schuyler to the Corporation for the Land he bought on the Gallows Hill.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Saturday the 25th April, 1767.

Resolved by this Board that the Mayor in behalf of the Corporation sign a Deed to the Crown for the Ground where Kilbys store is erected, being bounded as follows, viz: to begin at the High way opposite the South side of the Dock called Kilby's Dock and streching from thence southerly along the High way as the Building now stands two hundred & two feet, the same length on the East side, and in breadth on both ends thirty-one feet English measure, and that the City Seal be affixed thereto.

This deed is recorded in Liber G. Pages 495, 496 & 497, me, J. De Lancey.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Saturday the 2d May, 1767.

Resolved by this Board that the Lot to the south of Ald" Van Schaick's be sold at Publick Vendue to the highest bidder and at a Quit Rent of four shillings yearly and every year for ever.

This day was sold at Publick Vendue to Gerrit Van Sante, Ju', the above lot for £273 New York currency.

Resolved that the Mayor on behalf of this Board sign a Deed to Gerrit Van Sante, Jun' for the Lot sold him this day and that the City Seal be affixed thereto.

Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurer in favour of Tho Seeger for three Skipple of wheat.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Saturday the 9th day of May, 1767.

Whereas it appeareth Yesterday to this Board that Adam Yates had Ground in his possession belonging to this Corporation and was beginning to build his House on it and he was requested to take and remove it, and in case he does not comply with said request,

Resolved by this Board that Alderman Peter Lansing and John Van Alen be appointed a Commitee and request Adam Yates to remove his Building, and if he not complys with said request, order the Marshel to break down & remove ye same.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Monday the 11th day of May, 1767.

The Commite appointed the 9th Ins for to remove part of the Building of Adam Yates which is on the Ground belonging to this Corporation make report to this Board that they were hindered by Adam Yates and his sons. Resolved by this Board that the Mayor, Alda Bogerd & Dirk B. V. Schoenhoven be appointed a Committe to consult and advice with Mr. Silvester about the removal of part of the House of Adam Yates.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Wednesday the 13th day May, 1767.

The following Ordinances were this day published:

A Law for the due observance of the Lords day called Sunday.

An Ordinance for selling of Flesh in the Markets.

A Law appointing, establishing and regulating a good and sufficient night watch in the City of Albany.

A Law for paving and cleaning the streets, lanes and alleys within the City of Albany and for preventing of Nuisances within the same.

An Ordinance for regulating the Carmen within the City of Albany.

A Law for regulating Negroes, Mulattoes and other slaves.

A Law appointing a sworn Surveyor.

An Ordinance for Tavern Keepers.

The above Ordinances to be in force until the 16th day of May, 1768.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on Wednesday the eight day of July, 1767.

Resolved by this Board that the Ordinance of selling meat be renewed. Resolved by this Board that the Clerk draw an order on the Treasurer in favour of Thomas Seeger three Schipple of wheat.

Resolved by this Board that the Treasurer sell one hundred and fifty Schipple of the City wheat to the poor people at five shillings a Schipple.
