At a Comon Council held for the City of Albany on the 29 day of September, 1759-Present, the Mayor, Recorder, Jacob Lansing, Jun', Jacob Ten Eyck, Sybrant Van Schaick, Jun', Johs H. Ten Eyck, Abraham Douw, John Hansen, Barnardus Bratt, Peter Lansing, Ha: Gansevoort. This day being appointed by the Charter for choosing and electing Corporation Officers, the following persons were chosen to serve for the ensueing year, according to the direction of the Charter, viz1:

First Ward.-Johannis Van Sante and Sybt Van Schaick, Jun', Alder

men; Peter Lansing and Harmanus Schuyler, Assistants; Maès Bloemendal and William Macintosh, Constables.

Second Ward.-Jacob Ten Eyck and Jacob Lansing, Jun", Aldermen; Henry Bleeker and John Hansen, Assistants; Hendrick Williams and Jacob Harse, Constables.

Third Ward.-Abraham Douw and Volkert Douw, Aldermen; Jacob Van Schaick, Jun', Abraham Ten Broeck, Assistants; Gerrit Van Der Berg, Wynant Van Alstyn, Constables.

This Board appoints John Roseboom for their Chamberlain, and Johs Seger, Marshall for the ensueing year.

At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany on the 8 day of October, 1759-Present, the Mayor, Recorder, Johs Van Sante, Abraham Douw, Sybt Van Schaick, Jun', Jacob Ten Eyck, Jacob Lansing, Barnardus Bratt, Peter Lansing, John Hansen, Ha: Gansevoort.

This Board agreed with John Wilson to be Publick Whipper for the City of Albany for the space of six months from the date hereof for the sum of ten pounds corrant money of New York.

Ordered that the Clerk let John Wilson have one Shirt, one pair Shoes, one pair Stockings and one pair Breches on his wages.

At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany on the 14 day of October, 1759-Present, the Mayor, Jacob Ten Eyck, Johs Van Sante, Jacob Lansingh, Jun', Johs H. Ten Eyck, Abraham Yates, Barnardus Bratt, Peter Lansingh.

Syb G. Van Schaick, Esq, produced a Commission appointing him Mayor and Clark of the Market for the City of Albany and Coroner for the City and County of Albany for the ensueing year.

Jacob Van Schaick, Esq, produced a Commission for High Sheriff of the City and County of Albany, took the Oaths appointed by Law, signed the Test, and sworn to the execution of his office.

Henry Williams, High Constable, Jacob Harse, Maas Bloemendall, William Macintosh, Gerrit G. Van Den Bergh and Wynant Van Alstyn, Petty Constables for the ensueing year, took the Oaths, signed the Test and sworn to the due execution of their offices.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on the 14 day of November, 1759-Present, the Mayor, Recorder, Jacob Lansingh, Jun', Volkert Douw, Abraham Douw, Sybt Van Schaick, Jacob Van Schaick, Jun', Harmanus Schuyler, John Hansen.

Sybrant G. Van Schaick, Esq, Mayor, took the Oaths appointed by Law, sign'd the Test and sworn to the due execution of his offices.

John Hansen, Henry Bleeker and Abraham Ten Broeck, Assistants, took the Oaths, sign'd the Test and sworn to the due execution of their offices.

This Board appoints the following persons Fire Masters for the ensueing year, to witt:

Solomon Hays, Luykas Hoogkerk, first ward.

Cornelis Van Scherluyne, Casparus Pruyn, second ward.
Isaac Van Arnem, Volkert G. Van d Berg, third ward.

Ordered that Warrants be given to the Fire Masters of each ward accordingly and that the Clerk sign the same, by order of Common Councill. John Kidnie made application for to buy the house and lott on the Gallows hill, formerly possessed by Rob Flint, which this Board will take into consideration.

At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany on the 21 day of November, 1759-Present, the Mayor, Abraham Douw, Volkert Douw, Sybt Van Schaick, Jun, Jacob Lansing, John Hansen, Abraham Ten Eyck, Henry Bleeker, Jacob Van Schaick, Jun', Harmanus Schuyler, Peter Lansingh.

Thomas Williams produced an Account of £7:10, which was expended at the Entertainment of Sr William Johnson, Bar', which is allowed by this Board and ordered that a Warrant be drawn on the Treasurer to pay the same, the Clerk to sign the same, by order of the Common Councill. At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany on the 3d day of March, 1760.

Resolved, that an order be drawn on the City Treasurer, to pay Thomas Williams £20:14:10 in full of his Account, and to Johannis Seger £5, and not to discount with Johannis Seger till he produces his Indenture in the Common Councill for the Land on the Gallows hill.

The Committe heretofore appointed for examining the Accounts against the City are to remain, and Abraham Ten Broeck to joyn the said Committee for the purpose aforesaid.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on the 12th March, 1760.

Sybrant Van Schaick, Jun', produced an Account amounting to £5:4:3, which being allowed and ordered that the Treasurer pay the same.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany, on the 15th March, 1760.

This Board agreed with Jacob Buljin for the house and lott he now dwells in on the Gallows hill, at the rate of forty shillings year during their pleasure.

Mr. Timothy Conner produced an Account of £10:8, which is allowed and ordered that the Treasurer pay the same.

This Board ordered that no Butcher, or any other person whatsoever, shall offer, sell or expose for sale any Calfs meat under twenty-one days old, under the penalty of forty shillings, one half to the Informer and the other half to the Poor. If any difficulty should arise about the age of the Calf, the proof shall lay with the Butcher or such person as exposed the same for sale, that the Calf was of the age above mentioned.

To the worshipful the Mayor and Corporation of the City of Albany. The Petition of the Subscribers, Inhabitants of the Jonker street, Most Humbly Sheweth,

That your Petitioners daily experience the many inconveniencys that attend the great scarcity of water in their Street and Neighborhood, and having a just sense how fatal the Consequences of any Accidents by fire must prove to them, have therefore voluntary subscribed amongst themselves such a sum of money as they hope will be sufficient to defray the expense of bringing water in Pipes from the hills, collecting it in Reservoirs and erecting pumps. But as some people who have not now subscribed to this so usefull and necessary undertaking will when it is compleated [enjoy] all the advantages equal with any of the subscribers unless prevented by proper authority, we therefore beg the Mayor and Corporation for a conveyance of it to us, our heirs and assigns, under proper restrictions, and to that end that every citizen may be a partaker of the ease and advantage of it, we beg leave that a clause may be inserted by which one may be a member provided he pays unto the Trustees to be appointed by the subscribers the sum of twenty shillings or eight shillings annually, and conform himself to the Articles of the Agreement. That this Plan may be agreable and meet with the approbation of the Mayor and Corporation, is the sincere prayer of

Resolved by this Board, that the Petitioners to the above Petition have an Instrument drawn consisting with the above Petition, that the Mayor will sign the same and cause the Seal of this City to be thereunto affixed, by vertue of this Resolution.

Mr. Abraham Ten Broeck produced an Account in behalf of the Patroon for the fire wood of this City from the 1st day of June, 1745, to the 22d day of November, 1759, amounting to £159:3:10, out of which is to be £39:3:10 for Saw Logs cut out of the right of the City for many years past.

Ordered that the Clerk draw an order upon the City Treasurer to Mr. Abraham Ten Broeck £120 in full for the above account, and sign the said order in behalf of the Common Councill.

Whereas a number of Gentlemen residing in this City, have signified to the Mayor, Recorder, Aldermen and Commonalty of the City of Albany, that they are desireous of establishing a Prysbyterian Church in the same. This is to certify that the Mayor, Recorder, Aldermen and Commonality of the City aforesaid do very much approve of so laudable an Intention, and promise that they will do every thing in their power to encourage and promote the same, and that the Mayor sign this in behalf of the Corporation and the Clerk affix the City Seal to it.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on the 5th day of April, 1760.

Ordered that the Treasurer pay Johs Seeger £33:2, which is the Ballance due to him for his Sellory as to the 14th day of October, 1759.

Ordered that the Clerk write to Daniel McMichal to settle the rent for

the house and land at Verfbergh by the 15th Instant with the Corporation of the City of Albany.

An Ordinance regulating Carmen renewed and published.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on the 2d day of June, 1760.

The Ordinance regulating the rates and prices of all kind of Flesh, &a, is renewed and published as follows:

For every b of all kind Beaf, Mutten, Veal, Lamb, &a., 5d. P lb.
For every head and pluck of a Calf 21d.

For every head and pluck of a Sheep 12d.

For

every head and pluck of a Lamp 9d.

To commence the 10th day of June Instant.

Also an Ordinance renewed and published for cleaning the Streets.

At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany on the 15 July, 1760.

An account of Johs Hun being produced of £3:4, for fourteen Chairs and one Easy Chair for the Council Room, which is allowed and ordered that the Treasurer pay the same.

Resolved by this Board, That the Clerk put up Advertisements that a Lott of ground on the north side of the House of Abraham Lansing, deed, where Mr. William Corry now dwells in, of thirty **** foot English measure broad, and in lenght as the Lott of said Lansing, will be sold at Publick Vendue to the highest Bidder, on Friday the first day of August next at three of the clock in the afternoon at City Hall of this City, with a reserve of ten shillings to be paid yearly and every year to the City Treasurer for the use of this City.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on the 30th day of July, 1760-Present, the Mayor, Recorder, Jacob Lansingh, Volkert Douw, Abraham Douw, Peter Lansingh, Abm Ten Broeck, John Hansen, Jacob V. Schaick.

Whereas a Resolution was made the 16th day of this Currant month of July, that the Lott of ground lying on the north side of the house and lott of Abraham Lansing, dec, was to be sold at Publick Vendue by the Mayor and Corporation, and whereas the Mayor having business out of the town, it therefore Resolved by this Board that the Recorder together with the Aldermen and Assistants sell the said lott according to the advertisement, and that the Mayor shall execute the deed in behalf of the Corporation.

Resolved by this Board, That owners of the ground adjoyning the Rut in Kill and the Foxes Kill leave a passe of eight foot for the water, and that the Aldermen of this City overlook the same.

According to the above Resolutions a Deed being executed by the Mayor to Isaac D. Fonda, who was the highest Bidder, and the money paid to the Treasurer, £151, on ye 29 August, 1760.
