At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on the 23 day of December, 1757-Present, the Mayor, John Beekman, John R. Bleeker, Johs Ten Eyck, Johs Van Sante, Abraham Douw, Abraham Yates, Jun', Jacob Ja Lansing, Ha: Gansevoort. Neeltie De Foreest produced an account of £11, which is allowed. Johs Van Sante produced an account of £5:5, which is allowed, £1:13 to be paid out of the said account to Henry Douw.

Resolved by this Board, that an order be drawn on the Treasurer to pay the above accounts and that the Clerk sign the same, by order of Common Council.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany, on the 17 day of March, 1758-Present, the Mayor, Johannis H. Ten Eyck, Johannis Van Sante, Abraham Douw, Henry Bleeker, Jacob Ja: Lansing, Phil J. Schuyler, Abraham Yates, Jun', Ha: Gansevoort.

Whereas on the 29 September last Joseph Wells and Peter Cranell, chosen Constables for the First ward, and Ebenezer Roberson for the Second ward of the City of Albany, and whereas the said Joseph Wells and Ebenezer Roberson are Entered in the Battoee servise and Peter Crannell removed out of the City, wherefore it is ordered and resolved on by this Board, that an election be held on the 21 day of this instant month of March, for to choose two Constables in the said First ward and one for the Second ward of this City, and that the Aldermen of the wards do give notice accordingly. ·

At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on the 29 day of March, 1758.

An Ordinance published for preventing the sale of Rum or any other spirituous Liquor to the Soldiers.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on the first day of April, 1758.

Daniel Bratt in behalf of his father Barnardus Bratt, Jun', agreed with this Board for the Ferry on the west side for ye ensueing year for seven pounds current money of New York.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on the 6 day of May, 1758.

Several of the principal Inhabitants of this City appeared and desired this Board that our Grievances may be represented to the Governour, Council and General Assembly.

Resolved, That the Mayor, John R. Bleeker, Abraham Yates, Jun', John De Peyster and Jacob Ten Eyck, be a Committee appointed by this Board to draw up the facts of our grievances, that the same be sent to one of the Attorneys in New York to put the same in form.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on the 21 June, 1758.

The following Ordinances renewed and published, viz1:

An Ordinance for regulateing Carmen.

An Ordinance for cleaning the Streets.

An Ordinance published the 22 June, 1756, with some regulations aded the 20 August, is now renewed and published according to the rates and prices hereafter mentioned, viz1 :

For every lb of all kind of Beaf, Mutton, Lamp, &a, sixpence.
For every head and pluck of a Calf 21 pence.

For every head and pluck of a Sheep 12 pence.

For every head and pluck of Lamp 9 pence.

The above Ordinances to be in force the next day after the 22 day of this instant month of June.

At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on the 15 day of July, 1758.

The Ordinances regulating the rates and prices of all kind Flesh, &a, is renewed and published as follows:

For every fb of all kind Beaf, Mutten, Veal, Lamp, &a., 44d.
For every head and puck of a Calf 21d.

For every head and puck of a Sheep 12d.
For every head and pluck of a Lamp 9d.

This day being appointed by the Charter for electing Corporation officers, the following persons were chosen to serve for the year ensueing, according to the directions of the Charter. viz1:

First Ward-Johs Van Sante and Volkert P. Douw, Aldermen; Barnardus Bratt, Jun' and Peter Lansingh, Assistants; Johs Jilles de Garmo and Isaac Fryer, Constable.

Second Ward-Jacob Ten Eyck and Jacob Ja: Lansing, Aldermen ; Henry Bleeker and John Hansen, Assistants; Matheus Aerse and Cornelis Van Scherluyne, Constable.

Third Ward-Abraham Douw and Johs H. Ten Eyck, Aldermen ; Harme Gansevoort and Abraham Yates, Jun', Assistants; Gerrit Rosebom and Gerrit Dun Bar, Constables.

This Board appoints John Rosebom, Chamberlain; Johs Seeger, Marshall, and Isaac Fryer, High Constable.

At a Comon Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on the 2 day of October, 1758-Present, the Mayor, Johs H. Ten Eyck, John R. Bleeker, John Beekman, Johs Van Sante, Volkert P. Douw, Barnardus Bratt, Jun', Abraham Yates, Jun', Henry Bleeker, Jacob Ja: Lansing, Ha: Gansevoort.

This Board allows the following accounts and order the Clerk to draw upon the Treasurer to pay the same, to witt:

Deducting nine and ninepence for the use of the City Auger.

This day sold to Abraham Lansing and Gerrit A. Lansing a certain piece of ground lying in the Second ward of the said City, adjoyning on

the North part of the house and lott of the said Abraham and Gerrit, is in breadth on the front by the Parel street thirteen feet, and rear on the west nine feet, in length from east to the west fifteen rod and eight feet and half feet, all Ryland measure, for which piece of ground above described the said Abraham Lansing and Gerrit A. Lansing agrees to pay £40 New York currency by the executing of the deed, Provided that the said Abraham Lansing and Gerrit A. Lansing do release to Gerrit Roseboom a certain piece of ground adjoyning on the north part of the lott of the said Gerrit Roseboom, is in breadth on the front by the Parel street nine feet eight inches, in the rear on the west six feet and six inches, and in length from east to west fourteen rod ten feet, all Ryland measure, for the same forty pounds above mentioned.

Resolved, That the Mayor in the name of the Mayor, Aldermen and Commonalty execute a deed to the said Abraham Lansing and Gerrit A. Lansing for said piece of Ground, and cause the City Seal to be thereunto affixed.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany at the City Hall of the said City on the 14 day of October, 1758-Present, the Mayor, John G. Roseboom, Esq, Recorder, Joh Ten Eyck, Johs Van Sante, John Beekman, John R. Bleeker, Volkert P. Douw, Abraham Douw, Abraham Yates, Jun, Henry Bleeker, Philip J. Schuyler, Barnardus Bratt, Jun', Ha: Gansevoort.

Sybrant G. Van Schaick, Esq, produced a Commission for Mayor of the City of Albany, &c., for the ensueing year, and took the Oaths appointed by Law, signd the Test, and was sworn into the office of Mayor and Coroner for the City, and Justice of the Peace for the City and County of Albany.

Volkert P. Douw, Esq, produced a Commission for Recorder of the City of Albany, took the Oaths appointed by Law, signd the Test and was sworn for the due execution of the office.

Abraham Yates, Jun, produced a Commission for High Sheriff for the City and County of Albany, took the Oaths and signd the Test and sworn to the due execution of the office.

Joh Van Sante, Jacob Ten Eyck, Abraham Douw, Johs H. Ten Eyck, being chosen Aldermen for the ensueing year, took the Oaths, signd the Test and sworn to the due execution of their office.

Barnardus Bratt, Jun", Peter Lansingh, Henry Bleecker, John Hansen, Abraham Yates, Jun', and Harme Gansevoort, took the Oaths, signd the Test and sworn to the due execution of their office.

Johs Jilles de Garmo, Cornelis Van Scherluyne, Matthewes Aerse, Gerrit Roseboom, Jun', Gerrit Dun Barr, took the Oaths, signd the Test, sworn to the due execution of the office of Constable.

Isaac Fryer took the Oaths, signed the Test, sworn to the due execution of the office of High Constable.

Whereas on the twenty-ninth day of September last past, Volkert P. Douw was elected Alderman for the first ward of the City of Albany, and whereas since that time, to witt, on the fourteenth day of October following, he produced a Commission for Recorder of this City, took the Oaths, signed the Test and sworn into his office, wherefore it is ordered and resolved by this Board that a new election be held on the twentieth of this instant month for chusing an other Alderman for the said first ward, and

that Johs Van Sante, Esqr, Alderman for said ward do give notice accordingly.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on the 17 day of October, 1758-Present, the Mayor, Volkert P. Douw, Esq, Recorder, Johs H. Ten Eyck, Jacob Ten Eyck, Abraham Douw, John Hansen, Henry Bleeker, Abraham Yates, Jun".

Ordered and Resolved by this Board, That Gerrit Van Vranke remove his drain from the Kings High road into the Creek, between this and the twenty-eight day of this instant month of October, on forfeiting six shillings for every day after that day, and that he be served with a copy of this order, the Clerk to sign the same, by order of Common Council.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on the 2 day of November, 1758-Present, the Mayor, Recorder, Jacob Ten Eyck, Joh3 H. Ten Eyck, Johs Van Sante, Henry Bleeker, Peter Lansing, John Hansen, Abm Yates, Jun".

Sybrant G. Van Schaick, Jun', and Jacob Jacobse Lansingh, being chosen Aldermen for the ensueing year, took the Oaths appointed by Law, signd the Test and sworn to the due execution of their office.

This Board appoints the following persons Fire Master for the ensueing year:

Johannis Eversee, John L: Reatliff, first ward.

Abraham H. Cuyler, John Gert Marselis, second ward.
Wilhelmus Van Antwerpe, Jilles Winne, third ward.

Ordered that Warrents be given to the Fire Masters of each ward accordingly, and that the Clerk sign the same, by order of the Corporation. At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany on the 20 day of January, 1759.

Resolved by this Board, that all the [Lottery] Tickets that are not sold by Monday the twenty-second instant, the Managers are to deliver the same to the City Treasurer, and he is to dispose of as many as he can, and those that remain unsold to be at the risque of the City.

At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany on the 19 day of February, 1759.

Resolved by this Board, That Sr William Johnson, Bar', may have the ground behind his house and lott where Patrick Magee has lately build on, that is to say, the breath of his lott on the street and then sixty foot long down toward the River at the rate of forty shillings a foot on the street, and that the Mayor execute a deed for the same in behalf of the Mayor, Aldermen and Comonalty.

At a Common Council held for the City of Albany on the 29 day of May, 1759-Present, the Mayor, Recorder, Jacob Ten Eyck, Johs H. Ten Eyck, Sybrant Van Schaick, Jun', Abraham Douw, Barnardus Bratt, Jun', Abraham Yates, Jun', John Hansen, Henry Bleeker, Peter Lansing. Jacob Ten Eyck, Jacob Lansingh, Jun, Henry Bleeker, and John Hansen, being a Committe appointed by this Board to examine the several Accounts with the City Treasurer in order that Treasurer pay the same, and in case any difficulty should happen that they may lay them before

the Common Council, and that the Committe put up advertisements that all persons that have any demand may bring in their Accounts on or before the ninth day of June next, and sign them with the Clerks name, by order of Common Council.

This Board have agreed with the Treasurer to receive, pay and settle the several accounts for the thousand pounds raised by Publick Lottery. Ordered by this Board that Mess's Ha: Gansevoort and Gysbert Fonda pay the thousand pounds raised by the Publick Lottery to the City Treasurer, and that an receipt shall be their sufficient discharge for the same. An Ordinance renewed and published for cleaning the streets.

At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany on the 21th day of June, 1759.

Whereas Johs Jilles De Garmo was chosen a Constable on the 29 day of September last for the first ward of this City and now imployed in his Majesties service, wherefore it is Resolved by the Mayor, Aldermen and Commonalty of the said City, that on the 23d day of this Instant month, an Election be held for to chuse one Constable for the said first ward in the room of the said Joh Jilles De Garmo, and that one of the Aldermen give notice accordingly.

At a Common Councill held for the City of Albany on the 22 day of June, 1759.

The Ordinance regulateing the rates and prices of all kinds of Flesh, &a, is renewed and published as follows:
