An ACT declaring a part of Oil creek in Venango and Craw ford counties, a public highway.

SECT. I. BE

E it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Oil creek, in the counties of Venango and Crawford, from creek dethe Lower Forks in Venango county, to the upper Forks at clared a public highway. CHAPTER XLIX.

An ACT to authorize John Corey, administrator of the estate of Levy Corey, deceased, to convey a certain piece of land therein men

tioned.

WHEREAS Levy Corey, late of the county of Beaver deceased, did in his lifetime contract with Elnathan Corey, of the said county, to sell him the said Elnathan, one hundred and fifty acres of land, being part of lot number two thousand one hundred and fifty-seven, situate in the tenth district of donation land in the county of Erie, for which the said Elnathan paid to the said Levy in his lifetime, the full considera tion thereof, and the said Levy afterwards died intestate, not having executed any title to the said Elnathan for the land aforesaid, and there being no written evidence of the said contract, it cannot be carried into effect by any law of this commonwealth. SECTION I. SECTION I. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in

CHAPTER LII.

SUPPLEMENT to an Act, entitled "An Act to enable the gov* ernor to incorporate a company for making an artificial road by the best and nearest route from the borough of York, to the Maryland line at the place the present York road passes the same, or as near thereto as the commissioners shall find expedient."

SECT. I. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the president, managers and company of the York and Maryland line turnpike road, may at any time hereafter extend the said road, from the north end thereof along George-street, in the borough of York, by paving the same to the intersection High street, thereof with High-street, at the court-house: Provided however, That the said company shall not erect a gate or gates within one No toll gate mile of the borough of York, for the purpose of receiving or collecting toll.

SECT. II. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the true meaning and intent of that clause, in the fourth section of the act to which this is a supplement, by which the said company are "entitled to like tolls and profits as are given and granted to the president, managers and company of the Susquehanna and York borough turnpike road;" is that the president, manExplanation of part of the agers and company of the York and Maryland line turnpike road, original law. shall be entitled to like tolls and profits as are given to the president, managers and company of the Susquehanna and York borough turnpike road, in proportion to the respective distances of the same: And the president, managers and company of the York and Maryland line turnpike, are hereby authorized and permitted to erect a gate or gates as soon as five or more miles of the said road shall be finished and completed according to the provisions of the act to which this is a supplement, and to receive toll for travelling on the same.
