SEIR. S. M. 488 1 Lo, what a pleasing sight Áre brethren that agree! How blest are all whose hearts unite 2 From those celestial springs, Such streams of comfort flow, As no increase of riches brings, Nor honors can bestow. 3 All in their stations move, And each performs his part, 4 Form'd for the purest joys, 5 No bliss can equal theirs, Where such affections meet; While praise devout, and mingled prayers Make their communion sweet. 6 'Tis the same pleasure fills The breast in worlds above, Where joy, like morning-dew, distils, 1 What cheering words are these? Their sweetness who can tell? In time and to eternity, 'Tis with the righteous well. 2 In ev'ry state secure, Kept by Jehovah's eye, 'Tis well with them while life endures, And well when call'd to die. 3 'Tis well when joys arise, "Tis well when sorrows flow; 'Tis well when darkness veils the skies, And strong temptations blow. 4 'Tis well when on the mount 5 'Tis well when at His throne 6 'Tis well when Jesus calls: "From earth and sin, arise, Join with the hosts of virgin souls, Made to salvation wise!" |
