Is the charter a special act of the legislature, or was the company incorporated under the general laws of the state? The Minnesota, St. Croix & Wisconsin Railroad Company is a corporation existing by virtue of the laws of Minnesota and Wisconsin, being a consolidation of the St. Paul and St. Croix Railroad Company, a corporation organized under the general laws of the State of Minnesota, with the St. Croix & Chippewa Falls Railroad Company, a corporation organized under the general laws of the State of Wisconsin. Has any change been made in the mileage of your road in this state during the past year; if so, give a detailed statement showing what changes have been made and how the present mileage is made up? No change in the mileage operated by the Minnesota, St. Croix & Wisconsin Railroad except that by a traffic contract executed Nov. 15, 1887, between the St. Paul & Northern Pacific Railroad Company and the Northern Pacific Railroad Company and the St. Paul & St. Croix Falls Railroad Company, the right to run trains from a junction with the St. Paul & Northern Pacific to a junction with the St. Paul, Minneapolis & Manitoba Railway in the city of St. Paul, about 1.39 miles. The St. Paul & St. Croix Falls Railroad was purchased by the Minnesota, St. Croix & Wisconsin Railroad Company, as per instrument dated May 28. 1888.
