a Tavern at his dwelling house in Manchester one year from this date John Gamble Selectmen of Mantr Manchester Oct 28th 1828 We the Subscribers do hereby Licence John Gamble to retail Wine and spirituous Liquors six months at his store in Manchester Manchester Oct 24th 1828 John Ray Selectmen of Manchester State of Newhampshire Hillsborrough ss To Daniel Watts Constable for the Town of Manchester 1828 Greeting You are hereby notified in the name of said State of Newhampshire, to notify and warn a Meeting of the Inhabitants of said Town of Manchester who are quallified to vote in the choice of Senators for the State legislator to be holden at the Meeting house in said Manchester on Monday the third day of November next at one O'Clock P. M. to act on the following articles (Viz) 1st To choose a Moderator to govern said Meeting 2nd To vote by ballot for eight persons to be Electors of President and Vice President of the United States agreeably to the laws of this State 3rd To see if the Town will vote to lay out the road from Moses Halls in said Manchester over Bald Hill Road to the Londonderry Turnpike near Jepthah Heseltine And make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon unto the Town Clerk or in his absence to the Selectmen on or before the time of holding said Meeting Given under our hands and seal at Manchester this tenth day of October in the year of our Lord 1828 John Gamble State of Newhampshire Hillsborough ss Pursuant to the within warrant I have warned all the legal Voters in Manchester by posting a true and attested copy of within warrant at the Meeting house fifteen days before the third day of November Daniel Watts Constable State of Newhampshire At a legal Town Meeting duly notified and holden at the Meeting House in Manchester in the County of Hillsborrough on the first monday of November in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty eight the following votes of the Inhabitants of said Town present and qualified to vote for Senators in the State Legislature, were given in for Elecetors of President and Vice President of the United States, and were received in presence of the Selectmen of said Town in open Meeting by the Moderator thereof, who in said Meeting in presence of the said Selectmen and the Clerk of said Town sorted and counted said votes and at the Close of the Poll made a publick declaration thereof with the name of every person voted for and the number of votes for each person as follows Ephraim Stevens Jun was chosen Moderator of the said Meeting and the votes having been given in for Electors of President and Vice President proceeded to act on the third article in the warrant the Meeting voted to dismiss the same the Meeting was then dissolved A true record Attest Franklin Moor Town Clerk Manchester December 29th 1828 We the undersigned Selectmen of the Town of Manchester, do this day lay out a Highway through Land of Wescoats bounded as follows. Beginning at the southwest corner of the Corning Mill yard thence south 16" East thirty rods to a White oak tree standing on the south side of said Wescoats land. Said road is laid out two rods wide.
