which is now to the Town

I have not the means of Knowing precisely the amount oweing by the Town but am inclined to think that if the above accounts are seasonable settled and the balance promptly paid the Town will be enabled to pay all the demands existing against it and to have a considerable balance in the Treasury but in order to effect this purpose two things appear to me to be necessary

First Chose a suitable Committee to settle with all former Treasurers

Second instruct the Treasurer for the ensuing year to call upon all delinquent collectors to settle up their Lists

thes two propositions if completely carried into effect will soon remidy a growing evil and place the fiscal concerns of the town in its proper state

During the last year I have received the interest on the note given by Jonas Harvey and others for Town land up to January 3 1825 - amounting to 39.86 and also interest on a part of that sum on account of its not having been paid in due season 40 cents I have also recd of Collector Dwinel a balance of 1.76 and of Peter Young 5 Dollars making in all 47.02 and have paid the Selectmens Order to James. S. Mace for teaching school in District No 1 . .

leaving a balance in my hands of which is subject to Order
