SOLID NEUTRAL The question of using a slid neutral is almost as important as the question of concentric wire. When circuits had to be letely stated it was proper to require a fuse on each wire se each wire might become dangerous. 4 .. ! este only, the at! son etin es danger repared us danger when : on the wire to the grom! i ned ad it is n willen in the situation It is Fourier, will re, ed in h on the growled sle of two wire bran hes, prob So far as we know, the Sprague Works of the General Electric Company are the only manufacturers that have taken any action on this point. They have prepared a bulletin showing a panelboard with sond neutral, an illustration of which is shown on page 35, and on this page a present style of panelboard with the double fuses is shown. The saving in cost is distinct, and in large buildings will constitute quite an item. The Committee recommends that members bring this construction to the attention of architects and wiring contractors, Each installation will need special approval by the inspection authorities, just as the first installations with grounded neutral contravened the Code, and could be made only by special permission. |
